Guys
I need to decide between Blackberry Curve and Bold. Any users for the same here?
My requirements are simple.
should have wi-fi, gps and good screen. would be using wi-fi to browse on the net.
let me know your views.
thanks |
Stay away from the bold, its replacement Onyx(BB 9700) is due in a few weeks.
Any review's of the Nokia N86: 8.0 Mega-Pixel Camera, 8GB Memory.
Since the price has reduced & it currently stands at Rs.: 20,800/- (With Bill & Warranty).
It seems quite tempting. :D
AND
What would be the buy back value of a used:
Nokia E51 with Bill, Box, Warranty, Complete Accessories.
Purchased on 15-Feb-2009 ?? please:
some sites quote nokia n-8* better than n-9* series. I ordered N-85 since it was for 250$ (probably a goof up by dell, now they have it for 350), because I needed VOIP (SIP) inbuilt support that has been taken out in N-9* series.
Also heard that the processor is same in both that slows down the higher versions.
what other alternatives you are considering?
I use Nokia 6630 and planning to change in few days with Nokia 6303 or Nokia 6700.
Guys,
My 1.5 yrs old N95 is giving me problems offlate. Thinking of getting a new phone, which should provide a good browsing experience, GPS and good battery life. Budget is roughly around 20k. What do you suggest? I'm bored of Nokia's. Will prefer something else this time.
Thanks!
how is acer F900 for 25k? anybody used this phone? dose it have a pdf reader built in. i actually want one without the pdf reader so that i can use acrobat reader without alteration

You could check out Samsung Jet. It is a full touch screen phone, comes with Samsung's TouchWiz interface.
The AMOLED display is really crisp. It has features like 5 megapixel camera, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS etc.
It also has DivX support, which is a unique feature.
It is not a smart phone, so don't expect office features.
But it is definitely a very good buy at roughly 20K.

It is the most bullshit phone at that price range unless the AMOLED screen and plethora (simply mindblowing) and specs are what one looks for.
Having extensively played with one for two days (not read the manual so forgive not exploring all):
a. The flash is blinding to take photos but the final result is nothing to write home of. N series is much more usable for parties. tested back to back with N96.
b. The looks. Freaking bland. N9X atleast look like 20k phones. This to my eyes doesn't look much better than STAR
c. Touch screen - the multi touch is VERY nice and intuititve and easy to get used to.
d. Keyboard. Forget it. This phone will just make you tear your hair out if you do anything more than calls. It has a sensitive touchscreen (even thin fingered people struggle big time). And with a 3+ inch screen, I would've hoped for a qwerty onscreen keyboard? but no, its not there.
worse - you need to type it in a separate input box, not within the browser. That was the reason for me not buying 5800XM
e. searching contacts. USELESS. for example for trying Raman. I normally used to press R, then scroll down. here its very sensitive so i need to type ram before it shows up.
f. if you will sms/email a lot, forget this.
its good for people who browse blogs (not forums where u need to reply) and who only call.
lastly, the performance is fast, but NOT 800 mhz level (compared to my e63 369 mhz)
I went ahead and got my self the N 97. The video clarity is awesome. However, the video format is some crazy format and Nokia suite does not convert even avi or mpeg files! Can anyone suggest a suitable freeware that can be used to convert these files to a Nokia recognized format - quickly?
Download Super. THE best in the business. And it's free too! Totally!
Thanks for the suggestion..but is Super a converter or a player? Looks more like a player. Does it have a symbian download link?
It's a converter. Converts to MP4 which can be played in real player. Or else download the smartmovie player/converter

Thanks for that report, i had this phone in mind but was not able to get someone who used it. i guess i will pick up Acer F900 for 22k since large display with windows mobile is my prime requirement. htc touch hd is out of my budget as of now.

Samsung Jet may not suit your requirements, but that does not make it a rubbish phone.
I have not used one myself (other than when I checked it out at the mobile shop), but I can tell you that it has got 5 star reviews on most reputed review sites.

All touchscreen phones look similar - a large touchscreen on the front and a camera on the back. There's not much variation they can do with the looks in touchscreen phones. :uncontrol
I agree with you that it doesn't look expensive, but it doesn't look cheap either.

You could not find the QWERTY keyboard even after playing around with it for 2 days. :Shockked:
You just need to tilt the phone and hold it in a horizontal position, the on-screen QWERTY keyboard is automatically activated.
