I bought a Nokia 5800XM :), after much deliberation about which mobile phone to buy. In a toss up between the E71 and the 5800, I found the 5800 to be absolute VFM. Most of the features too were better than the E71, especially the camera quality and the music features. Video playback is very very good with 30fps. Video recording too is at 30fps.

Though I bought this phone primarily to surf the internet, I am touch disappointed with the touch screen, which isn't as responsive as my erstwhile iPod Touch 1G.:D Also, the 5800's build quality just can't match the solidity of the E71. The cost at a priority dealer in Pune came up to 14750, a good 4K lesses than the E71. A sweetener also came in the form of a free download of 100 songs from the Nokia Ovi store.

Pluses: Gorgeous looking screen, terrific value.

Minuses: Not-so-smooth touch interface, flimsy build.

Cheers,

Jay

I too am waiting for the info sought by nandishpal, my trusty old E50 needs to be replaced soon.

Cheers,

Guys,

Can anyone guide me to the website for downloading/installing blackberry connect on the E63. I am stuck.

Lohith, trust me - take a FAST phone + fast BT gps. Upside is good battery life. A friend who is riding to ladakh took his BT GPS along with his asus p320 phone for the said reason only!

Picked up Nokia 5800 XM for my wife on Sunday. Loved it during the few hours i used it.
It won the race between this phone and Ipod Touch 8GB as gift for my wife.

Nandish,

Thank you. The VAT on electronic goods in MH is 12.3% compared to 4% in KA. This explains the price difference. I even contemplated riding down to Belgaum and buying the phone. But then, time was a constraint. So, I settled for a priority deals at Pune.:)

Cheers,

Jay

Query : Looking for a Mobile which can support storing windows documents with easy interface to Laptops. Thinking of Acer 900 / 960. but in dilema.

Preference : Windows OS, Bigger screen & High resolutions to read docs on mobile, 4 - 8 GB support, Good camera for storing pics.

Price : around 25K?

Please suggest some good models :)

btw, heard about intel based mobiles. Is it available in India in above price range?

BUT. its not very good at holding onto the network
I like to read, while lying on my bed.

Full network if I hold the phone in my left hand.
NO network in the right hand.
and I am not that wide.

we know that, hows the pain in your neck/shoulder, LOL?

I am trying to visualize how wide does one have to be to get out of range rl:

Would appreciate any phone recommendations:

1. Should be great looking & compact

2. Usage : Only calls + SMS (No planners, media players, games etc. needed. A phone is a phone to me).

3. Quick stable software.

Thanks

both these phones have a common disadvantage.they get heated up soon as they are made of metal.also the battery back up is not very great.
