- 5800 has 3.2 MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, auto-focus and dual LED flash. 5230 has a basic 2 MP camera.
- 5800 has stereo speakers, 5230 has mono speaker.
- 5800 has wifi, 5230 does not have.
- 5800 sales package comes loaded with 8 GB memory card, good quality handsfree, Senheiser Headphone (current offer), USB cable, stylus, plectrum, charger etc. 5230 comes only with charger and cheap handsfree.

IMHO, 5800 XpressMusic looks like a better deal compared to 5230 if music and camera quality matters to you. :)

If you are just looking for a touch screen phone with GPS, 5230 should do the job. :thumbs up

I am not very sure, but 5230 does not have GPS, while 5800 has.
I am using 5800 since last 3-4 months and am impressed.

Go for the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic.
Price should be about Rs. 5000. It has a 2 megapixel camera,
MPEG-4/H.263 video player, FM stereo radio, GPRS web browsing, has 30 MB inbuilt memory, comes with a 1 GB memory card -- you can buy a card with more memory, Operating System is Nokia's Series 40 5th Edition, FP1.

Hey thanks Ram. You pointed out a good handset. Will surely have a look at it tomorrow. BTW is there any good Symbian OS phone in that price range. I am talking about a new one as used ones are not reliable.

+1 to that. I got a 5130 couple of days back. T was quoted 5200;
Upgraded o a 2 gb card. which added 130 to total cost. I am very happy with it.

HEy guys and especially ram . I took your advise and didnt go for the satio and boy am i glad. The interface is really bad and i feel the touch to be a bit too sensitive. Anyways how is the samsung cl80 ? the one with 14mp camera ?

N79 is a great phone, one of my personal favorites. It is feature packed and great value for money. Its only drawback is that it does not have a touch-screen, which is the latest in-thing. If you are looking for a non-touch screen phone, this is one of the best out there.

Main features of N79 are:
- 5 MP camera with auto focus and dual LED flash
- Quad band GSM
- 3G and HSDPA
- GPS and AGPS
- Wifi
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- FM transmitter
- Stereo speakers

The retail package is very generous and contains all accessories required. :thumbs up

5230 does have GPS as well as AGPS. With GRPS i get very fast satellite lock and when in the open get 5 to 8 satellites. Using both Nokia and Google maps.

Guys,
I am planning to buy 2 phones.
1. With Touch screen, W-Fi, good music player, navigation, etc.
2. Basic colour screen phone, may be with FM.

I have shortlisted the following:
1. Nokia 5800.
2. Nokia 5030.

Request you to give me your views. I would like to buy the phones today evening.

PS : No Samsung phones please. I am selling both Samsung Star S5233A and FM guru phones.

Nokia N82 also comes with all these features. So, which one is the better? What's the current price of N79 and N82?

N82 is discontinued now.

Both phones have more or less the same features.

N82 had a Xenon Flash, N79 is thinner and compact.

Since N82 is discontinued, you could go with N79. Price would be in the range 13-14K.

My dad is going to change his blackberry 8800 as its almost 3 years old. i just want to know one thing is the new Nokia push mail as good as the blackberry ?
Because he really likes the e75 and would love to go for it , but he is scared whether he would lose the blackberry's functionality !
His main purpose would be sending and receiving emails from multiple email Id's.
And also can you configure more than one email id in a nokia push mail service ?
Gurus please advise. And also which is the best blackberry as of now .

If yo ask the Nokia guys they will assure you that your emails will be the same but....old foggies like me (and maybe your dad) need hand holding and hence it makes better sense for them to get a BB (the learning curve is greatly reduced). I am getting the 9700 (Vodaphone promises to deliver one to me today). If yuou get teh Nokia you have to subcribe to a service from Vodaphone (or whichever carrier your dad got) that limits the data transfer in MB. For those with large data requirements the BB service is cheaper (about Rs. 200 per month cheaper).

Besides with BB you get BB Messenger.
