IR is needed only because most of the laptops have Ir and still no bluetooth. depends on your needs.

Well this is a slim formfactor and the battery is only 860mAh. The screen also is 16M and not the standard 256K.

The 6233 is very similar has a 256K and bigger 1100mAh battery and still manages only 4hrs talk time.

My guess is then the 6300's battery backup will be very poor.

If your looking for a mid segment phone you could consider the soon to be launched 3110.

Nokia 3110 classic - Full phone specifications

My guess is around 7K for this.

yep aza, its got the editor. btw, while i was there i looked at the m600i, some motorola flip pda and a seriosu one between the e60 and the 61.

m600i: looked crap, didnt even ask him to switch it on.
motorola: not so much money on a motorola
e60: too much like the 9300 and the hint of chrome was putting off for me.

Vid, is it possible to get a more powerful battery for the 6300, say 1100mAh? Opps, the battery may stick out of the body, right?

I would suggest stick to the original one. There was a news that aftermarket cell phone batteries are dangerous and you may be holding a bomb in your hand. And i don't think you will get a more powerful battery for 6300 from nokai.

OT: Why does everyone say the 6233 has a non-minimisable music player? What does that mean? I can shut my music player and it still plays, until I press the Stop button.

Yeah but how do you finally stop the player? You need to navigate through all the menus or through a shortcut you have set and press stop. Theres no way to shut it from the standby.

hmmmm, which firmware you have? is it the music edition?

mail4ajo, Even if you use a nokia battery from another model ?I dont think it will work. I am not sure of this.

Yeah true, you can't shut it from standby. But you can minimise it.

No, I don't have the ME, as such. But evidently I have the same firmware as the ME, which includes A2DP support.

Any idea when it will be released? My wife has waited long for the 6300 and it turns out to be a bad phone going by most reviews.

Any idea when it will be released? Not seen under the upcoming phones on nokia website. My wife has waited long for the 6300 and it turns out to be a bad phone going by most reviews.

I want to buy a Windows Mobile phone in Pune.. preferably some model later than Imate Jam (I had one.. its broken). Where can I get it in Pune and whats the price range. I wouldnt mind buying second hand, provided they are cheap

Hi guys .. I have an O2 Mini with what i think is a corrupt memory card .. it's a 256 MB MMC card but shows only 7 MB on the phone .. is there any way to format it or something and make it right .. further is there any way to increase the ringer volume on this thing (it's just too darn soft even on full volume) .. and .. the alarm beeps only once and is hence impossible to wake up with .. any way to fix that .. thanks

Try to format memory card in mmc reader.

If you want to make your ringtones louder open the ringtone in windows xp's default sound recorder than go to options and increase volume than save it.

For alarm there should be applications in which you can set any ringtone as a alarm. try to search it in Google.

I am using n91 at the moment. Phone is nice but hangs sometimes, have to remove the battery and put it back again.
