Well going by the specs and reviews I don't think it's as good as the 6233. Just because it's slim doesn't make it better.

It runs on the same S40 as the 6233. One more difference to the 6233 is that the music player in the 6233 cannot be minimised whereas in the 6300 it can. But then again this is just a firmware issue which can be solved by upgrading the software. I think it's already been fixed on the 6233 music edition.

Like I said earlier, mono speakers, less battery life and no IR bring down any other advantages it may have.

Where in India has 6300 been released? I am waiting for the handset. I have delayed my purchase for about 2 months due to the release dates.

I found the Screen to be superb also the audio quality is very very good. 3D ringtones is nice too. Best thing bout the fone is the camera. The fone has 2 speakers so even the loudspeaker is stereo.

Cheers
So all features b/w the n73 normal and the ME are same? doesn't the ME come with 2 gb memory or something?.. if n73 normal has it all then why did you go for the ME in the first place?

New and nice one from Samsung. Behold the Ultra Smart F700. No idea what OS it's running. Its not WiMo5, and doesn't look like WiMo6/Crossbow. Must be proprietary SW.

From Engadget: Samsung outdoes itself with Ultra Smart F700 - Engadget

Eek! Must restore... cardiac function... ahh, there we go. Samsung's Ultra Editions seem to get classier, glossier, and more far-fetched with every subsequent iteration -- and if they haven't already jumped the shark, they have now with the rather breathtaking Ultra Smart F700. The candybar with a slide-out QWERTY 'board makes do with 7.2Mbps (yes, we said "seven point two") HSDPA plus EDGE for those occasions when 3G towers are out of reach, a 2.78 inch touchscreen sporting no fewer than 440 x 240 pixels, microSD expansion, full HTML browsing, Bluetooth, and a whopping 5 megapixels of snapping power on the backside. Per protocol, America is left squarely out of the equation with GSM 850 and WCDMA 850 / 1900 all coming up missing, but at least folks in the greater Barcelona area should get a shot at it next week when it bows all official-like at 3GSM.

As a long time Samsung phone user, I gotta say this. Samsung makes the most superior mobile phone hardware compared to anybody else. It very slick, very sturdy, long lasting (forever), very compact, lightyears ahead in phone design, etc.

But they stink when it comes to mobile phone software, just basic features, incomplete features, incompatible software, very shaky PC connectivity. Try these problems with my previous Samsung E600 phone.

1) It has a video recorder, but there is no way to transfer the video out of the phone. Only thing you can do is either play it on phone or delete it.
2) The PC software is so shaky, it used to recognise the phone only 50% of the time. Again it had very limited features.

If you need basic phone features only, then Samsung phones are simply amazing. But if you want nifty software the works with it, look elsewhere. Don't get fooled by feature list on Samsung phone, half of them won't work the way you expect. I mean, videos that can't be transferred, which genius thought of that...

I switched to Nokia N73 after 6 years of using Samsung phones. Software wise I am very thrilled, it is like jumping from 19th century to 21st century. But hardware wise I would pick any of my former Samsung phones over N73.

Despite my good senses and good advice from Steeroid, I purchased a N73ME for my lady friend.
I had no choice, she came with me to see both the SE 790i and the N73ME. I begged her to buy the 790i, even showed her steeroid's PM on my blackberry.
It was of no avail.

I paid for that N73ME and in less than one day she knew what it was. UNSTABLE!
The phone had a mind of it's own. Behaved badly, kept hanging and what not.

Maybe it's the software, maybe it's the 2GB card. The phone sucked.

After a month of struggling with it, she ( a die-hard Nokia fan) has requested me to change the phone and buy her a SE790i. Honestly, this feels awful, as the money I paid for the phone didn't hang did it?

I will let you know her experience with the SE790i, but something tells me it's gonna be good.

My wife's faithful 3120 was stolen. So we duly went to Nokia showroom to check out all models. She tried N70/N72/N73,6131 and host of others. She found 6270's big keys & large screen comfortable. We bought 6270 for 13K with B/W. It came with 1GB memory card. It has 2MP camera with flash and its nothing great about it. Music player comes stereo widening and sound quality is very good. My dad has N72. 6270 (S40 series) is definitely faster than N72.
