Nokia N70, thats what i use. Love the cam quality on the phone.
Serves as my digicam, till we get a proper one. Was gifted to me by my wife, after my Nokia 7250i got stolen from my jacket while at a theatre in Hyderabad. Used a 3310 in btwn, which still serves as a faithful backup. nothing can beat the old Nokia's when it comes to reliability.

Madhav,

1) Did You check switching the mobile on while charging, if not try it.
2) Does the infrared port glow when You switch it on, if so most likely a firmware corruption, a minor firmware upgrade from the service guys should do it.
3) I hope You checked by trying with a different battery than yours. if not try doing it it could be a battery or the charging adapter problem.

3. Removed the sim and tried to restart - no use

The phone starts up with a white screen and then disappears. Pressing any key just brings up a screen with vertical lines and nothing happens.

I took my phone to the SE service center and got it checked. They were unable to fix it and asked me to send it to Singapore and get a replacement under warranty. So I just got the phone back removed the batt and put it away as I'm not going to Singapore anytime now.

On Saturday night I just wanted to connect the phone to the comp and see if there was anyway to check the firmware and stuff liek that. So I put the batt back and surprise!! the phone started up without any problem. All data was erased, but the phone was working.

Dunno if removing the batt and leaving the phone for over a day helped?? Don't understand how it corrected itself!! Anyway I was thrilled and happy that I don't have to think of sending it to Singapore or anything (until the next time this happens).

Oh! btw, there was no flashing IR LED for me. Infact I could receive calls and play music on the phone. Only that my diplay was all corrupted and would only flash a White screen!

Now I'm not completely sure if this was a complete EROM failure or just a snag with the display. Funny part is SE service center said that the phone was gone and needed a replacement

Nokia 6300?

Any one has info on the release dates and retail price of the Nokia 6300? I have been constantly checking with Nokia on this. They promised that I will be the first to know.....
