Thanks guys

@hrag : Yes, you get all those goodies, and yes the battery lasts only a day, bad considering that Nokia still manages 2 days with good usage.

@coolzen : Couldnt agree more. BTW, have you heard of the new roaming rental? Some bucks per month and incoming free..

Today I got a call from Customer care saying they had a new pack whereby paying Rs.300, my Caller ID will be free for life.

Calls free, now Caller ID..guess we are inching towards a scenario where operators will be paying consumers to use their network..I dont mind alternate source of income.

@typeOnegative : You are lucky dude, Razr dont have expandable memories

@rahul_intlad : True, but not on Razrs and Indicom, repectively

@Eddy : You said it, "Personal Choice"

PLEASE do not buy the P990i. Its the phone that has turned most people AGAINST Sony Ericsson. Checked out the new P1i yesterday - quite a decent piece of hardware, though the design is very M600 types. It has everything - well ALMOST everything.

My next phone is already on Preorder - HTC Kaiser or the P4550. 3.5G, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, QWERTY Keyboard, tilt screen, the works. For me, its the ultimate device:

Steer, see if you can get your fingers on a SE W960 and let us know how it is. That to me is the ideal phone if it delivers what it says on the box.

Steer... would you care to explain what are the problems with this phone? I have one since the past one month without any problem what so ever... hardware or software.

I'll check out if we have one in stock for testing, but I'm a lousy phone-only user and will only come out with negative reviews because it lacks all other functions. I dont buy the walkman function much since I have my 60 gb iPod for the purpose, and in any case I dont walk around listening to music.

However, will give it a shot.

@ e_t: The P990i hangs, has a pathetic plastic exterior which is equivalent to a chinese toy, has a really bad UI for advanced usage like setting up push (or even conventional) mail, 3G speeds are bad and video call quality is not upto the mark. It also had this habit of hanging while on WiFi, plus the screen is not big enough for PDA usage. Browsing the internet is so much easier on other (particularly Windows Mobile) PDAs.

After the brilliant P910i, the P990 was a HUGE disappointment. Screen-size wise the P1i is also quite a disappointment because SE's PDA screens are getting smaller as others are standardizing their screens.

Help and advice needed

Hi Guys

I have a T-Mobile Vario II. Basically it's a HTC Hermes (Dopod 838pro, Imate JasJam etc..).

I want to buy a Nokia E90. How much would I get for my Vario II? It's in excellent condition, I have all the accessories that came with the phone. It's unlocked and I have loaded the latest Windows Mobile 6. Can anyone recommend a dealer in Pune that would take my phone in as trade-in against a Nokia E90?

Thanks

Need help in mobile models to choose from

As adviced, i am staying away from P990i as its been discontinued. I have now shortlisted Nokia N70 ( Music Edition), SE W810i, SE 700i for following prices

N70= 11k or 13k with bluetooth ( some china made NE-501 or something)
810i = 12.8K
700i= 9.5K

My requirements are nice looking phone, good sound/voice clarity, decent camera and other regular stuff.

I am also looking at buying another phone for my wife ( Nokia 6300), how is it? feedback from owners would be appreciated.

From the lost your best option is the W810i. It's got a decent camera and the sound quality is much better than the nokia N70. The W700i is now an old phone and not really worth even 9.5K.

the 6300 is a nice slim phone. It's display is even better than the sony ericsson W810i as well as the N70's. The only draw back is the slightly average battery life of a 1-1.5 days of the 6300. But even then if she doesn't talk much the 6300 is a good buy.

Thanks Vid, but W810i looks kind of small in my hands while the N70 fits perfectly. Other than music quality not that great in N70(M), any other problems with this handset? I kind of like it and greating a good discount on it ( mebbe will get it for 9K), i know its the first of the N-series but is it worth going for it now?

My wife is totally in love with 6300, so probably will go ahead with that model for her.
