Thought so during the initial days. But it is ruled out since I can clear the issue when I open and close the 'On Screen Keyboard' with no keyboard touch.

Anyone ... any idea

What do each of these cost, and do they play CDs/DVDs?

none will have a drive. But you can buy an external USB drive separately.

What do you guys think about the MSI Wind?

I have to decide between this and the Acer Aspire One. The Wind costs 14.8K, while the latter, 17.4K.

Wind is smaller and hence cheaper. Also the brand is not so strong. The product is good though.

Hi, I'm in a dilema right now. I wish to pick up a laptop but I do not know which to pick out of the 2 below:

HP DV5 - 1225
Processor: Intel Centrino 2 2.13GHz (Core 2 Duo)
RAM: 3 GB
Graphics: 512MB Dedicated (Nvidia 9200M GS)
HDD: 320GB
Cost: AED 3799

or

HP DV5 - 1205
Processor: AMD Turion 64 x2 2.2Ghz
RAM: 2 GB
Graphics: 512MB Dedicated (ATI Mobility Radeon HD3450)
HDD: 160GB
Cost: AED 3295

The confusion arises when I look at the WEI rating for both the laptops.
The Centrino 2 has desktop graphics rating of 3.4 and the rest all are above 4.
The AMD scores higher than the Centrino 2 in terms of graphics rating (4.0), falls marginally short in HDD read frequency rating and is surprisingly at par for the rest inspite of lower RAM.

Is the Centrino 2 worth spending tha extra AED 500? Or will it be at par with the AMD? I read elsewhere that Nvidia has not yet tweaked its drivers for optimum performance on Vista. Is that a reason to worry?

Laptop gurus, please do advise.

I bro has an Acer Turion with Vista Home and 32MB Nvidia I guess. Got for 26K with free HP laptop bag. Upgraded to 2GB now. Its good. 512MB dedicated should do great job.

For 500 extra you also get 160GB. I am not sure how those card score over each other though.

Any particular reason? I've read that the AMD + ATi Combination is really good for graphics related applications / games.

Its an Acer extensa 4620 and a Nokia E71. At the moment neither of them recognize each other's Wlan. Which is really frustrating.
