I have big fingers and the samsung wasnt comfortable under my hands. I have been using the same 15.4 inch lappy since 5+ years and am used to low play with keys rising above the palmrest like in a desktop. For me the samsung pressed 2 keys 8/10 times. Also the particular unit creaked a lot near the screen hinges (probably because of it being a display unit. they get thrashed a lot by ongoers.)

But Samsung is doing well in the market especially with their long battery life. No two doubts. I just prefer Asus as they really know the netbook market. They afterall invented it with Eeepc.

Well appreciated. I concede, for me the ultimate netbook would be one with the Lenovo's build quality, Samsung's battery life and screen, and the HP's looks and keyboard. And of course, the Acer's performance.

I hope this little discussion has helped you, Proxima.

I think it would be fair to comapre the mini9 instead of the mini 12 with competition. Is a different case there arent available in India yet.

I got Acer Aspire One on 20th of this month after going through all the reviews for almost 5 days in a row before deiciding. Considering my daily need and the applications, cost factor etc. I could not find anything else other than aspire one. It looks too good and a real VFM by all means !

The prices of Inspiron 15 will rise with 1545. Also some of the basic features will be optional or available for extra cost. The changes are not major enough to delay the purchase in my opinion but do google for more information.

I suppose Dell UK already has it.

My 1525 is on a UPS as the system when it recognises the battery reports 100% charged, but switches off as soon as the electrical power goes off and does not boot up in the battery mode. Bow it does not recognise the battery at all.

Problem reported yesterday by email. Got a reply at 12.07PM yesterday (29/01/2009). No further responses so far. They work only 5 days, that too upto 5PM.

My previous service request was 45 days back and was handled better. That was for an overheating issue.

My system works basically in a non AC, dusty atmosphere.
