I even got my doctor to return his Note for an iPad2 & phone combo (phone was under evaluation!): http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/gadget...ml#post2598922

enjoy.
have been going through last 30-35 pages and have read few of these posts. going by the size of Note, it may better serve as a tablet but I already have an iPad 2. There is a chap at my workplace who uses a Note, going to ask him about his experience later today.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

None of the apps on sale today appeal to me. Sadly I don't play any games other than NFS.

beautiful widgets is nice too - as is flick golf. the price is so inconsequential i've bought a few i will surely discard later

but like asphalt 6 - i cannot buy it later at the price (Rs 5 vs Rs 350!) - therefore buy today - delete tomorrow!

Note is a do it all handy data consumption device. But if you need a hand-phone (as some european friends called it) - you better look at Galaxy R(uber VFM) /S2 or Sensation or RAZR and the likes.

Probably, need to get a hands on on Notes a couple of times more and then decide.
Same for me, I dont like bluetooth either. But then my monthly calling is only 3hr. But eMails, Forums, Social Network, Readers on the go, and that is where Note is very handy.

The size is perfect i.e. small enough to fit in pockets and big enough to do all above work easily.

The resolution is damn good and it kinda forces you to spend more and more time with it.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Booked a Note at 30,990 via eBay along with free philips noise cancellation headphones as a part of eBay's winter deal. Expecting to get the courier till Saturday. Will post initial impressions on this thread soon with a comparison with the Desire HD.

How does one search for a particular number? Example : I want to know which of my contacts has a number containing 823. This feature was there in the stock Froyo.

What Phone and what OS are you using now? Have you moved to any custom ROM? Or do you have any themes installed?

@headers: Motorola Defy. CM 7.1 Android 2.3.7
Yes I have some theme installed but I don't think that should affect search functionality.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

You need a T9 dialer, SUN garu. like I keep saying - WajkiUI does all of it

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

on a side note - a heads up for the Defy users -

those installing the latest WajkiUI ICS or the experimental ICS builds (NOT meant for end users - they are builds, not even alpha or beta or stable ROMs) - please do so with caution. There are enough instances of folks trying to, and not being able to downgrade back to Froyo with those ROMs (esp if you install one of the GB variants derived from Defy+). Stick to CM7-stable-11Nov or the 18 Nov wajkiUI unless you completely understand what you're doing.

Finding the way to DOWNGRADE Defy+2.3.6 ROM - xda-developers is just one of the many threads abounding for downgrade and few have a clear clue.

Will I lose out on the torch or any of CM's nice features if I switch to WajkiUI?

I am not very interested in eye candy.
Isn't there a way to get this functionality back on CM 7.1 itself? This is a useful feature and I think many would be missing it dearly.

Just install "Go contacts". It includes the dialer. One of the bests I have used.
