Damn I saw it for 5$ promo few days back. Will hunt around on crackberry forums to see if it's still there.

And yes I did get it from Tmobile.

Need some help: Got my mom a 8520 today(sweet deal on that too, 11.5k INR from London ) now I need to transfer her exisiting phonebook from a Nokia 6600slide (Symbian40) to the BB.
I know of the nomad method of doing it via outlook etc but i rather avoid that hassle. I used to use ZYB but it seems new registrations are closed since they got bought over by Vodafone. Any alternatives that are quick and easy? Bluetooth transfer aint helping too.

Hi Guys,

Need to get a blackberry. Budget 16K.

Imp:
1. QWERTY Keypad must be easy to use
2. Should not have crashing issues

It's for office use. Any suggestions?

Go for a brand new BB8520 and peace of mind, plus it's well within your budget.

You will be happy

Dont move to a BB Bold only because it supports a 3G as the service providers are not yet in place.

But, otherwise, Bold is a great phone to own. Go for it !

I just did that yesterday. Sold my 2g iPhone and switching to the new Bold 9700. The storm is useless, I wouldn't use it even if it was free Infact I was gifted one last month and I politely returned it

Couldn't find the 5$ deal but I have sent a request to CellUnlock.net Wireless-Your #1 Source for Accessories, Parts, Repairs, Service & Unlocking! for unlocking my 9700. 50% discount by using code: crackb50 which works to 10$.

Does Reliance allow CDMA numbers to be converted to GSM so it can be used on a unlocked BB 8520? This is for a Mumbai number.

You have to wait for "Number Portability" policy to kick in - which has been 'Real Soon Now' for the last few months. The last we heard was that it should have made an appearance in October, alas ...

But this is a switch between the same carrier why would it need number portability?

Thanks mobike,

No second hand sets, Have to go for a new one.

Pressing them for a 8900 else it is 8520 all the way. BTW, they want the cam & SD card slot to be disabled along with software installation. Can this be done? If yes, will the dealer do it ??
