Any thoughts?
Hi!
From your device Home Page go to "Manage Connections", then to "Mobile Network Options", select "Data Services", in Data Services choose the option "Off When Roaming" and "Save" your selection. That's it. You can have it "On" as and when required.

Yes, the 8330 has both GPS and Wi Fi. Check BB site for further details.

Recently my handset packed up meaning there is a problem with the mike, something i have tried to get fived from the Reliance service centre as well as a couple of trusted repairers. All said it will cost a packet. In ny case my hanset is rally old so i need to change it. SO i went to the reliance store and found that they have really old handses. There is a 8330 curve which looks like my old phone with a camera.

I have downloaded google maps and have this great application wherein i can track any of my friends to where they are at that point. They are all tracked to pinpoint precision but i am tracked to within a radius of 5000 meters. Is this because of my old phone? If i get the 8330 curve CDMA, (rs. 18,000/- plus) will this improve. The other two options are the pearl and the world phone. I am not considering either.

I wanted to know if there is any place where i can buy a nwer model of the blackberry CDMA which will be compatible to the Rliance network. They have agreed to activate the blackberry services on a phone not supplied by them but where are these available and which one do i get? Is the 8330 curve recommended then? I dont want to get the Reliance GSM network as i have been told that there are many issues witj it. The CDMA works everywhere, thats why im looking at the Reliance network for blackberry services.
If you absolutely have to stick to Reliance and they have agreed to activate a NON Reliance branded blackberry you have a lot of options, go to gsmarena.com and take a look at the BB models there which support CDMA. But in my opinion you would be fine with a Storm or a maybe a nice 8830. But I suggest you put money down for a Tour its definately worth it. And the only good option right now in CDMA.

Mav2000, I have two OEM covers and nothing shakes ... The bottom part of the phone has the latch to open the cover maybe u press it accidently. And the GPS works, infact when using INSTAMAPPER to broadcast location on the net, my bold finds its position and transmits in under 20secs. If you are using blackberry maps then it wont work in india. Try out google maps or instamapper.

Is there a way to transfer the contacts and SMS's from my old N70 to Blackberry 8900? I got a lot of contacts to transfer and I am finding it difficult to find a way to do this.

Guys which of these two is better 8900 or 8520. The comparison chart says that the 8900 does not have a USB cable, charger and the memory is not expandable. Little confused here.
BlackBerry - BlackBerry | Wireless Handheld Devices, Software & Services from Research In Motion (RIM)

@Chetan, how would one charge the 8900 without the charger AND the USB cable? Don't trust the comparison chart to do a good job - read the specs on the BB site. 8900 is definitely better than the 8520 (display, speed etc.), though the jury is still out on the 8520 trackpad v/s 8900 trackball. 8520 is an entry-level BB, 8900 is quite a mature one.
