Do like I said and it should work fine, and a BlackBerry once unlocked can never be locked again!

The Tour is a CDMA phone, isn't it? So will it work on Vodafone?

How do these world phones operate?

The tour is available as a GSM only too. Available at Chroma for 19000 odd, unlocked, but thats only the GSM. Im gonna check it today if it is a world phone and if it can take CDMA also, else im getting the Reliance world phone for 28K today

I remember the last world phone they released was for 35K and one could not use the GSM features in india??? Ill have to check on the tour though.

Well, all's well that ends well, everything works perfectly fine now, Yahoo messenger, GTalk and MSN. All I did was to remove the sim card and put it back again. Works like a charm. Mom and I have become chat buddies, though we stay in the same house, its tough to even talk properly due to my long work hours, but now we keep in contant touch. My sister's in the US are very happy too as they chat with mom on and off. Thank God for Plan 299. And for a tech savvy Mom! Hehehe!

Has anyone upgraded BB Messenger through the 299 plan ? I tried the links posted in the previous page but they are JAD files, which is not accepted in mine. I think I will need ALX or COD files. Any clues ?

hi guys. i have an unusual enquiry to make. i am currently using a P1i with unlimited GPRS (from airtel). using activesync (pre loaded in P1i) i get all may emails in real time (pushed in the same fashion as blackberry). i can also use facebook, google maps, mchek etc etc. Is it possible that i have a similar arrangement on a blackberry without subscribing to BB plans and continue with my mobile office 499 plan. I plan to buy BB 8900. Or if there is an option that i can use to pull mail every 10minutes rather than real push. However, ihave real push mail on P1i using activesync and gmail imap
thanks
