cartech...please update on the status of your purchase. IMO, the 1.6 is great value for money now. Go for it buddy....and then pray hard for acceptable A.S.S!!

Put aside the FE figures for a while and enjoy your drive. Add some spice - K&N, fatter rubber...have fun!

I have not got sub-10 kmpl so far. Maybe because my 'city' is different.

huh?? Doesnt make sense. My Baleno has (obviously) a bigger engine than the Swift, and yet it gives me 14.5-15 kmpl without fail, no matter how hard I push it.

cartech

did you decide on your car? personally if you like the palio, and you want FE go for 1.1, else if you have money to spend, go for 1.6 and enjoy.

Shaman did not have 1.6 for TD. They have promised TD on 21st April. If I am not satified with 1.6 then I will go for SWIFT ZXi in early May. What I read from Palio User Group that 1.6 will not be available forf TD. One can only order. That is 1.6 will be made only against order! How any one can order without TD? Let us see on 21st.

Cartech,

What I know as per info from Shaman is they will be getting the car for TD. I have the 1.6, just wanted to check the new 1.

About the service, now its on the better side and can be called as good. Got my 1.6 serviced at Shaman last week. That was second service. I was there the whole day with my car, to see how well they do it. I found them serving my car very religiously. So now I see service or A** as no more a issue with fiat.

FE you can easily get 9+ in city I have managed 11 once...on expressway (mumbai -Pune)... 17. When You go for a long drive out side city, with the highway traffic you can get 14+ FE with AC and speedo above 80.

Greetings to all!

I was told by the dealer in karnal, haryana that palio stile 1.6 will be officially launched within one week or so. Considering the price and performance of the palio 1.6, i am planning to buy it once it is launched.

They have been saying this for sometime.

All 3 Blr dealers have been promising the car is in transit and will arrive soon (which is obiously a bundle... an entire week has passed now).

*raised left eyebrow*
  • Never went below 10 kmpl in last 2.5 years.
  • Current city FE hovering around 11.5 or so (with intermittent AC). Drops below 11 when tyre pressure is messed up.
  • Last City + highway FE (100% AC at medium blower setting) was 14.5 kmpl with sedate driving but once speedo crossing 160 to put things into perspective for an irritating Innova.

To both the raised eyebrows,

1. I said "almost always", which means there is scope for exceptions.
2. And the sub-10kmpl figures are user-reported on the forum, not a claim made by me. Search and you will find enough of them.

No no. That was not to contest any of your posts. Since discussion was on the topic, I thought I'll pitch in with my personal experience.

I am fine even if all other cars give sub-10 kmpl FE as long as I get 11+ kmpl for my car
