+1 i have heard about bad service in Chennai mostly from people who bought the cars from TAFE reach, not that other service centers offer world class service but they are atleast above expectations!
Concorde motors usually have most vital parts atleast!

@binaiks

i dont need any1 to give me solutions to the problems or tell me how to fix it. that i can do myself thank you very much. im qualified enough to do that.thats why i jus mentioned the problematic areas.
the only reason i put this up here is so that it gets enough publicity and people come to know about the problems got that.?
2. rattling from rear parcel tray- how clever of you to note its made of fibre.
its rattling at the point where the 4 screws are attached to the C pillar. or atleast there were supposed to be 4 screws only 2 were there.
3.bonnet release lever alone hasnt fallen off but the entire thing from inside it just popped out with the cable hanging from it. and after paying close to 5 lakhs for a car i dont wanna be stuffing paper here and there to fix stuff they should take care of that.
4.boot cladding rattling- what exactly dont you understand there. the cladding around the boot door-- its rattling.
5.the wiper blades were replaced only now at the last service. im mentioning all the faults that has happened to the car from time of purchase incase you havent read my full post i did mention that some of the issues were corrected NOT ALL of them.
6. they did this by...
a. keeping an open job card and saying the spares are coming in 2 days for 3weeks and also FIAT CRO's kept calling and saying sir your parts are on the way after i raised a complaint about this. but it still took me 3 weeks.
b. when the accident occured and i called fiat recovery they said they will take the car back only to the mother dealership ie from where i purchased it. so im back again at TRL.

Guys, this maybe off topic. But could someone tell me if there is any Fiat service station in North Bangalore? Around RMV, Sadashivnagar, Malleshwaram and arounds? Am just curious, as I am evaluating the possibility of a Fiat car for myself.

Hi Benedict

You are absolutely right in projecting your troubles. At a cursory glance, it does look like your dealership is the bad egg here, however, Fiat can't shy away from the responsibility here. They have to provide solutions if they want to continue doing well. Do keep us posted on further developments. Your letter to the CEO is a well written one and lets hope things turn out positively for you.

It beats me why this parts availability issue for Fiat is a recurring theme! Earlier, as per some Linea threads, the Fiat was giving excuses like shifting/consolidating of warehouse etc...that was months back.

With the various problems being pointed out regarding parts falling off/coming out, does it make sense that these are imported and not sourced locally?

While the a.s.s can be blamed for lax attitude and not pushing Fiat enough, Fiat needs to get its act together w.r.t parts availability. Particulalry minor issues like wiper/headlamps/indicators/rattling etc - there is absolutely no room for any excuses whatsoever for not getting it resolved at the earliest.

Hmm, not exactly an encouraging trend!
A question to the bangalore fiat owners - considering Prerana and Concorde are the major dealers, how has the service experience been with them? I myself own an Indica and have only once gone to Prerana for a paid service, which was below my expectation. Concorde, on the other hand seem a tad better in terms of overall service experience, but their premises are perennially overloaded with vehicles!

the worst of the lot and degraded specially after the Fiat-Tata thing...
we have to let go of our Killer S10 cause the A.S.S were not ready to sell the spares over the counter and neither could they repair it even after keeping the car for 1.5 months...
I was the one to fight for Fiat ( during social discussions ) but they let me down.
If a Fiat guy is reading this , you have lost a very passionate customer.
And you have voted, FIAT A.S.S as outstanding & excellent. How is that ?

Non-availability of accessories like grab handles, left ORVM, door moldings etc. is also hard to understand because I believe they fetch healthy profit to the company.

I have never been to prerana, so can't tell about that. Concorde is quite decent, but only issue is too much traffic near dairy circle area. Going and coming is a pain. And too many vehicles for service during all days. Another one I recently went to is KHT motors, near Akme Encore apts (near to cosmos mall). It quite spacious and felt nice. Its well within volvo route so can drop off your car and catch a bus to work.

Just a clarification: I took delivery of my Fiat Linea at Concorde Motors, Dairy Circle, Bangalore. The first free service was done there only. A few days back, I went to Concorde Motors, Mysore Road, to get a small niggle fixed, as it was near my home. At that time, SA invited me to patronize there only in future as they are concentrating on Fiat products only in contrast to Dairy Circle Unit, which concentrates on Tata products. For the proof, he took me around and showed a lot of Fiat vehicles like Linea, Punto and Palio that were serviced there. I thanked him and assured him that the second service for my Linea will be done there only.

Regarding the poll results, Fiat has scored 72% positive votes and 28% negative votes, which is really encouraging. But, Fiat has a long way to go to convert those negative votes into positive ones. Long back, I voted for 'Meets your expectation'.

I own a Linea 1.4. I voted below expectation. Although the response time has improved from what it was, say a year ago, the staff is oblivious to the "First time right" concept. My expectation would be that all the niggles highlighted by me are fixed with a single trip to the workshop, which has yet to happen. The icing on the cake (not in a good way) is the casual attitude. E.g. -

Me : I told you about the AC drainage pipe issue. That has not been rectified.
Staff : Oh OK saaar. Bring the car over again.
Me : @$%@&%^&%#$$%$#

The least I would expect here is an apology. Not too much to ask for, is it?

Edit : I get my car serviced at BU Bhandari.

From my experience(only 1st free service - Prerana Kudlu gate) Fiat was satisfactory. In fact, they even exceeded my expectations, given that I was apprehensive about Fiat service to start with.

They attended to all my queries, came out with me on a test drive to check rattles(later fixed it), entertained my request to view the underbody of the car and washed it for me in doublequick time as I was getting impatient to leave as I had an appointment.

I had another pleasant experience at Concorde body repair centre, Hosur road. WIfey had scraped a pillar while parking and rear door was dented. I wanted the door replaced, as I was not sure of Tata/Fiat doing a good job and whether the job would be faultless. The SA at Concorde Diary circle did not commit much, but agreed for me to take the vehicle myself to their body repair workshop, even called and informed them of my arrival.

Here I met Mr Madhu, who is quite a gentleman. He heard all my concerns, assured me that he will do a good job(and he committed to give the car back in 3 days flat). Going further, he offered to do the dry denting and putty work and take my approval before going ahead with painting. The same evening this job was executed and was to my satisfaction, so I gave the go ahead for painting. I got the car, all cleaned and gleaming, some miscellaneous scratches touched up, all without requesting specially. I was bowled over with this kind of service, and I told him as much. Kudos to you, Mr. Madhu and Tata/FIAT. I also told Madhu that I hope this level of service should not be because of him, but should be the norm across the board.

On the contrary, I have had a few run-ins with Pratham motors body repair centre and I have had to shout at them for dirtying my clean(when I gave it them) car.

Keeping all this in mind, I would say that Tata/Fiat is genuinely making an effort, they are at par with my experiences at different Maruthi Showrooms in Bangalore over a one year period.

It would be interesting though, to see how the SA's approach problems that are beyond their initial grasp, hopefully they will become better and better.

What does this tell us? Just by itself, probably nothing, but i feel we should have similar threads for other car manufacturers as well so that we know where they all stand.
I am wondering how the TATA owners feel about A.S.S.; just wondering lot of people not buying/avoiding FIAT for the A.S.S., however Tata Indica seems to be doing very good numbers. Any specific reasons for that? Is it just the perception for FIAT A.S.S. or is it something more that the people are looking for FIAT to deliver.

When people do overcome the "bad A.S.S" feeling and head to purchase a FIAT, the dealers often try to sell a TATA product instead. Only people who have a very hard liking for the FIAT end up getting a FIAT product - others are deviated to the Indica/Indigo. I had this experience when we went to Concorde for a TD of Punto - the sales advisor was hell bent on selling the Indica Vista to us. We were hell bent on not purchasing a TATA as well
