If this is true than its great news. Have been waiting for the refreshed city to see how it compares against the Verna!
Hope Honda stuffs some more features into the car!

Honda also has plans to launch Diesel engines. No time lines have been given as such. Read it on zigwheels.

Honda's new diesel engine unveiled

This might be a turning point for the whole Auto industry. The diesel engines in Honda have been much awaited for quite a long time. Other companies need to fasten their belts now.

Re: Autocar India scoop: 2012 Honda City Facelift pics

I have a booking for the current City but havent made the full payment. Can I ask the dealer to hold the booking and go for the new car once it is launched? Just wondering if they entertain this kind of request.

Why not?? It's your money and you definitely have choice to wait for a face-lift. But the question is - is it worth assuming a revised higher price or is it better to go with the current model available with discounts.

Yes you can do so.Although the dealer would push hard to give you the existing model. As someone pointed out 'if its worth' for the new model, because you won't be getting any discounts on it and it would be slightly expensive as well.

What you can do is delay the delivery till the launch and don't make any more payment as well. After the launch you can decide which one do you want.

Thanks guys. I'm just wondering if they'll do a Jazz and price it near current discounted levels to rake in the volumes.
I spoke to the dealer and he said they have 8 cars left and he cannot block one for me. Will speak to him again and ask him to let me know when they are down to 2-3 so I can decide whether to risk it or take the 96000 discount I've been offered now. the SA has been most helpful so far so I hope he'll oblige with this request.

Re: Autocar India scoop: 2012 Honda City Facelift pics

I prefer the alloy design of the current car. And I don't like the idea of having Blue lit instrument clusters and orange lit centre console and music system display! Why not change that too? Gun metal finish for the center console should probably silence all those critics who have always been a bit too bothered about the brushed aluminium finish in the current car.

I think the new city will have blue back lit for both the center console as well as the instrument cluster. The new city should be similar to the one in Thailand!
Though the Thai version seems to have no climate control or sunroof from what i could make out from the Thai website below.

Honda
But the pic shows the centre console will retain the orange back lighting from the out going version! Does make the ICE look like an after market unit now.

Change to the exterior really have freshened the car without spoiling the sleek looks of the City I would say.

If its true then its surely going to look out of place! I think we will have to install a touch screen HU to even things out!
Lets see what all honda has done to refesh the new city on the 14! but till then...

Re: Autocar India scoop: 2012 Honda City Facelift pics

The facelift features look good; esp. the bumpers, tail-lamps, alloys and that blue instrument cluster is drool-worthy!

What's with a "Corporate Edition" - devoid of ABS and Airbags?! Don't understand the rationale behind that.

Any idea if the tail-lamps are the same size as the current ones? - current City owners would love to upgrade for sure.

Also, what's the diff. in the head-light? - I can't spot any.
