re: Team-BHP Car of the Year 2011. EDIT : Mahindra XUV500 it is!!

Voted for the Swift. Launched in an all new avatar, it has broken all records by selling 17k units this month (second only to alto) and will continue the trend for some more time, by the looks of it. Packed with whatever features it was lacking till now, plus retaining the fun to drive factor of the old swift, it can even give cars in the higher segments a run for their money. It is also the undisputed king of waiting period queues, with some variants commanding 12 months of waiting. This shows the overwhelming presence of the swift in India. The now 6-year old swift just got a shot in the arm, and will rule the roads for many more years to come. It gets my vote this time for team-BHP's COTY 2011.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year 2011. EDIT : Mahindra XUV500 it is!!

My vote goes for the Skoda Rapid, reason - Skoda have been very successful to fill in the long awaited gap {the Fabia Hatch and the Sedan Laura} left by the exit of the Octavia. And the Rapid is a well befitting car at that!

If there was a second vote, it would definitely go for the New Swift, reason being, Suzuki have still maintained the wow factor associated with the Swifts of yore.

XUV 5OO goes out of my list because, IMO Mahindras have still to give out a perfect product and to compete with the well established SUV giants. I'm sure by the 1st Quarter of the next year they will be able to address all those niggles and teething issues faced by a lot of new XUV owners today. But today, its still a learning process for them.

XUV 500 it is!
Awesome package, great pricing and the response is too good!
Plus it is an Indian answer to the otherwise outsiders dominated SUV market

XUV 5OO, for once this year the TD was not a let down at all, at least for the price and the size. Expect for the plastics and the cramped rear, M&M has a winning formula in its hands.

For me the finalists were Eon vs XUV5OO.

But my vote goes to XUV5OO. For all that it provides at a VFM price, it certainly is the game changer in this segment.

Voted for XUV500, fantastic product at a killer price.
If I had another vote I would've voted for Swift.

Definitely the XUV 5 double O!! Its an all-round package and offers the customer features which were found only in the top-end luxury imported cars. Way to go Mahindra.

I voted for Liva simply because it brings practicality and reliability to the entry level. Its spacious, easy on running costs and also practical for city as well as highway drives. Therefore it takes the vote for merging practicality + reliability with affordability!

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year 2011. EDIT : Mahindra XUV500 it is!!

I too voted for XUV5OO, simply because it redefines the term 'VFM'. Personally, I consider this more as a large family car (or a station wagon) than an SUV or MUV. The perfect car for Indian roads: good ground clearance, plenty safety features and plenty nice-to-have features, all this at a lesser price than a sedan with these features. I considered only from a designer/developer's point of view, so ignored the A.S.S. I also did not consider reliability, as this factor is for cars released at least two years ago

On a lighter note, I think the car can reach 0 to 60 kmph by the time I finish pronouncing its name!

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year 2011. EDIT : Mahindra XUV500 it is!!

Voted for the Rapid; in my opinion it offers everything that the Vento does and in fact undercuts it at the price point. Moreiver, it is filling a vacant slot in their arsenal; a void left by the Octy.

On another day I would have voted for the XUV 5OO, but something about that vehicle seems missing to me. Perhaps I would have been convinced if it was a 5 seater. Just personal requirements I guess! Though it remains to be seen if Mahindra *** have it in them to handle all the electronics in that package on an ongoing basis without any niggles. And that they dont use customer property to experiment!

You must be one heck of a slow speaker, the XUV isn't that quick!

Voted for Mahindra XUV5OO.
The Best car launched in the entire year round.
Every other manufacturer has launched a car to compete, whereas Mahindra has launched a gamechanger SUV which will make established SUV's to compete in the market.

i voted for XUV500.. I managed to see the Black version of the car in person! Simply awestruck! I spoke to the owner of the car and even managed to sit inside it and get a look n feel of the car.

It's HUGE! and the comfort levels were unheard of in the price range.

Two Thumbs UP!
