Is the new Swift a all new model? I have my doubts. It's just that the Swift has got a few feline touches to a car which looked like a dog.
A new model would be like what Maruti had done to Zen. A beautiful looking car killed by a car called Zen Estillo. That's what a "major change" probably aims at -- suicide.
This Ritz is not going for a suicide for sure.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift launched, also introducing ZDi variant

I tried to get a TD for the new Ritz but failed miserably. A showroom in Bombay qouted that it will take at least a month for the TD vehicle to arrive.

Also, the price qouted for VDI (ABS) was approx 6.8 L OR.

Definetly not VFM.

No comments on your opinion about how the Swift looks, but yes, the new Swift is an all-new car, built from an all-new platform from the scratch. That it looks too similar to the older car does not take away from the fact that almost everything under and above the skin was re-designed.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift launched, also introducing ZDi variant

I saw the facelifted Ritz at Surakshaa when I went to give the Swift for service.

The headlight got a small round protrusion for the park light housed inside. It looks like a transparent ball sticking out of the headlight and is very awkward to say the least.

I like the new front but they should have done something to the rear as well. The SA told the facelifted Ritz will be available in Diesel and Petrol.

I don't guess it would be available immediately as when I enquired in Hyderabad, they were not even having any vehicle for display. The SA was telling me that the waitinig period may be around 1-2 months.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift launched, also introducing ZDi variant

Why do they don't have test drive vehicles! Seems like Maruti Suzuki is too busy with the deliveries of Dzire and Swift which is disappointing as somewhere the Ritz is getting killed because of it! Maruti Suzuki could have used the Ritz to increase the sales and cover up a bit losses by selling Ritz VDI to people interested and agreeing to change their bookings!

Folks, deliveries have started. I saw a new white Ritz VDi yesterday night. The changes to the front were not much noticable atleast in the night.

Did anyone saw the ZDI's interior? I heard that the previous one looked better! Really eager to see the ZDI's interior.

The new Ritz is now available in Petrol as well. Refer ACI's report on same-

http://www.autocarindia.com/News/320...in-petrol.aspx

There are few changes in the interiors of the updated petrol model (as compared to outgoing) model, similar to those on the updated diesel model, & the prices have also been hiked for the car.

Thanks for the update. The earlier model Ritz Petrol will be available for a very heavy discount, I think.

BTW, when the rear-lifted Ritz 'major' will be launched? Any info regarding this, guys?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift launched, also introducing ZDi variant

Has anybody test driven the VVT Ritz? How does it fare vis-a-vis the outgoing model and Swift P? I got a chance to TD the Zxi and Vdi. The petrol test drive was too short to form any useful opinion. It was inside the city and the performance felt rather tame (compared to i10 Kappa2). But then, the car had just 35km on its odo, so it could be too early to judge. And it was inside the city, so I couldn't rev the engine either. I drive a ten year old Santro and didn't feel there was a major improvement from the present vehicle performance-wise.
The Vdi behaved true to its reputation, though. Put a major smile on my face with its performance. But it comes at a price. Almost 140k difference OTR between Vxi and Vdi ABS versions. I'll post the updates after a proper TD of the VVT.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift launched, also introducing ZDi variant

Just checked out the New Ritz Zdi and the Swift ZDi.

Somehow the seats of the Ritz felt much better than the Swift . MUL could have done more for the "new" tag . A multifunction display like the Swift and a ACC were something that would have been useful .

Also , this dealer told me that the pathetic red interior option in the Ritz would be discontinued in the 2013 model based on feedback from customers. Dunno how approved that red color at MUL in the first place .

I loved the black dashboard of the Swift . But , the seats like I mentioned earlier werent so comfortable .

Difference in prices are 70K INR on road in bangalore between the 2 ZDis
