WOW!! It looks smashing. Love it from all angles.
I dont think that, this will come to india in near future. Even if they intend to, they will cancel it. Anyways, thanks for sharing.

Smashing!! The rear looks very nicely balanced out and very contemporary , come to think of it i do not have a problem with the front as well , pretty decent job there as well.

A good effort. But I dont think overall it looks great. The front and the rear dont seem to gel with the middle. The front gives a more cab forward look, which the rest of the car doesnt seem to have. The rear is ok.

And overall, the best thing about the Linea(present one, not the facelift), is that its simple yet beautiful, elegant and subtle. Its a more old school design.

This rendering is a more in the new school of car design, with lots of lines and curves, more flash than elegance.

Many will like it, but it just doesnt appeal to me.

No offence to anyone but those renders have made the Linea look "cheap" and wannabe. The present one is one timeless design.

Cheers,
Manoj

Jeep has been testing both its Wrangler as well as the Grand Cherokee for a slugfest in our market.
Caught during in the traffic these spyshots contain both the 2-door and 4-door versions of the aspirational SUV.

Fiat's India strategy revealed-jeepwranglerindia3.jpg

Jeep will mark its foray in India with the launch of the Wrangler as well as the flagship Grand Cherokee. Jeep Wrangler will get a 3.6L V6 petrol engine that pumps out 285hp of power output and a massive 353Nm of torque. For the diesel aficionados, Wrangler will come with a 2.8L turbocharged diesel engine which pumps out 197hp of power output and mammoth 451Nm of torque.

However, they would come at a more than deserving prices for these Jeeps. The reason is plain and simple – CBU!

Cheers!

Thats a great news. This could very well be the first proper premium 3 door suv with a diesel heart. For people like me who loves 3 door suvs its going to be a treat. Its a good move by fiat and other manufacturers should follow. Toyota and mitsubishi could have made available the 3 door versions of the prado and montero since they are importing it anyway. We Indians seriously lack the choices to make.

Unfortunately, the short-wheelbase 3 door Wrangler is expected with a 3.6L petrol with manual transmission. Only the long-wheelbase 5 door Wrangler is expected with diesel engine and automatic transmission.

This is what I have heard from someone associated with Chrysler.

Don't know if anyone else noticed, but the Fiat India website curiously lists "2013 Fiat Palio", "Petra" & "Uno" in the pull down menu of the Payment Calculator.

Is this a hangover of the old Uno- Palio- Petra days, or are they planning to bring these models?

Yeah, for some unknown reason, they mentioned just their names.

OT: Got a chance to meet the man himself the other day, had so much to ask him but couldn't even say a word, out of excitement.

IAB have uploaded another set of spy pics of the Fiat Linea facelift on their website. Here is link to same:

http://indianautosblog.com/2013/10/f...t-spied-101219

Why can't Fiat do something about that rear wheel arch gap, which doesn't look good despite those big wheels.

BTW it appears that the alloys design is bit different from the turbine design that we have on T-Jet, but new ones too look good IMO.

This was at Chrysler Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI. We had lunch and a musical concert organised to celebrate the profits .

He was distributing donuts and couldn't resist the offer as people hardly get a chance to meet or pose with him. He looked very normal and received everyone warmly. I couldn't utter a word, was just dumbstruck.

Motorbeam have managed to have a testdrive of Wrangler short wheelbase 3.6L petrol manual.

http://www.motorbeam.com/cars/jeep-w...-drive-review/

From the review, I understand that this particular model is totally aimed at off-road enthusiasts, with not even the slightest hint of catering to normal people (assuming most off-roaders don't consider fuel efficiency a major concern). But those who go for hundreds of miles of off-roading, will have to take a few cans of petrol along (I am sure remote villages will not have the kind of petrol that the Pentastar V6 drinks).

... & now ACI have laid hands to the Wrangler 2.8L diesel mill. Please refer below link to their review:

http://www.autocarindia.com/auto-rev...-361642,0.aspx

Lousy on-road, but ruler off road conditions. However, with a price tag of INR 30-35 Lacs would make it out of reach of many enthusiasts.
