I am die hard fan of this car, my dream is to have this once in life time and hence I keep on tracking it on all the forums. So I am anticipating this will come with more usable features ( no doubts on its mechanical or technical capabilities) and better ASS.

A doctor in Pollachi(Coimbatore) owns this brute vehicle and i drool over it every time i see it.

For those who haven't seen this vehicle, believe me, this vehicle is menacing when you see it in the ORVM. The previous version had that best understated look.

Prices are being shown in the Gurkha website now, however no change from the previous BS 3 version prices. So it was not for any 'new' release. I am anyways not expecting the BS4 version anytime soon. Let the BS3 version first show up in the showrooms for test drive!

I just saw an article in the Deccan Chronicle which reports that the Gurkha will be sold again from Sep 2014. Force motors will make available test-drive vehicles at the personal vehicles showrooms. Wonder what new feature it will have? Red colour split bumpers and fluorescent seat covers ? Let's hope for the best!

OFFICIAL: Force Gurkha Off-Roader Sales Begin from September

Force Motors’ revamped interest in their off-roader Gurkha had us all stand up and take notice. With a lot of fanfare, the product was also launched last year but since then, its all hype that has been fizzling out with time, as Gurkha is yet to go on sale.

We have been pestering Force Motors’ officials about Gurkha’s readiness and in an official communication we have received, the company has announced that Gurkha’s sales will begin from September this year.

The reason mentioned by the company is


"The feedback received from auto experts and select group of users during test drives has helped us further fine tune the Force Gurkha into an extremely capable off roader"

While this is as diplomatic as it has to be, it does clear that Force Motors has worked on the product to make it a more acceptable buy in the market. Our spying of a Gurkha mule few months back which was being tested for NVH levels, further reveals this.

However, what the official communique doesn’t clear is if Gurkha will be available with the BS4 engine right from the word go or not. It mentions that Gurkha will be powered by the 2.6L Mercedes sourced OM616 diesel engine which will be coupled with a 5-speed transmission and 4X4 capability with Hi-Lo option.

From September 2014, you can go ahead and buy the Gurkha from Force Motors’ Personal Vehicles Dealerships. Test Drives and bookings will also commence from the same month.

Force has also cleared that the 3 years and 3 Lakh kms warranty will continue to be offered and the off-roader will be available in 3 colour options (Copper Red, Dragon Green & Matte Black) and in both hard top and soft top versions.

Another question that has not been answered by Force is – Will the prices remain the same or will there be any corrections from the ones declared during its launch.

If you cannot wait, you may need to relocate to Angola. Apparently 150 odd Gurkha's have been send to Angola.

Can Force Motors change the front end to something like the pic below ? I mean, is it really that difficult to make a good looking vehicle when you are charging 8.5 lakhs for it?

Agreed that the new Gurkha looks really ugly from the front compared to its older counter part. But, pardon me, this one looks even more bizarre, the character of the vehicle looks completely lost!
BTW, elsewhere in the forum someone from Force mentioned that the older front grill etc will be available as accessory option and can be fitted 'bolt on' in the present Gurkha.
