re: Toyota to launch the Etios and Liva facelift. EDIT : Launched (details on Page 4)

I got these exclusive pics of the Liva Face lift from my friend who was at Lanson Toyota for the first service of his Liva. These Face lift ones just arrived from Toyota's plant it seems.

The Toyota badge on the rear is no more. The Etios Liva badge goes there and the variant badge (GD) goes up.

The slightly redesigned headlamps

The Toyota Badging on the left is no more. Etios Liva badge goes there and the GD badge goes up. And a slightly redesigned bumper as well.

The striking ones. Wing mirrors look really cool. Diesel does not get integrated blinkers.

Doesn't look as wide as the old mirrors.

Notice the upper part of the dash- no more black, it's brown.

Gear knob too wears the brown color. Reminds me of the new Santro's interiors.

Steering wheel looks bigger than the current ones.

The new Bluetooth+ DVD system. Looks better than the old one. It's standard among diesels i guess. Also note the Speedo's color -Blue-Black, no tacho. This one is a GD-SP model.

Not much changes on the side.

re: Toyota to launch the Etios and Liva facelift. EDIT : Launched (details on Page 4)

Went to Toyota Dealership yesterday and was told total discounts on Diesel Liva (both GD and GD SP) sum upto 55 grands. Its quite a decent amount.
Even though, the changes to the car (facelift) isn't that obvious but prices are expected to go up by 30-35k.
What it means in essence is that you get 80k dicount if you buy it now rather than wait for the new model to come in.
I would want to buy the Liva D if it had Tachometer and Power adjustments for mirrors at this price (or maybe for another 10-12 k)
And I'm not sure if the Beige interior would make it to all variants.
Since I like the new glass work in the tail lights, does anyone know if these can be put on the old Liva as I might go for the pre-facelift model.

There was never really a J model. That's just an eye wash to lure people with the base price. I personally haven't spotted even one J model on the road.
Reminds me of one of the BHPians who booked the J model and never got it.

And, BTW The Liva TRD comes with 1.5L Etios gasoline engine. That's gonna make the Polo and Fabia 1.6 run. The Liva being lighter than those two, can leave them in the dust. It's gonna be insane.

Not really, both the models are discontinued by VW and Skoda.

Cheers!

Also noticed that the dashboard has been changed. Passenger side has a sunk area for storage above the glove box. This was not there earlier and items would roll off.

re: Toyota to launch the Etios and Liva facelift. EDIT : Launched (details on Page 4)

I wish Toyota had taken the opportunity and added an automatic variant as well, Brio is having its time in the sun with no worthwhile competition. I wish manufacturers also think of a diesel auto hatch, even if its price lands it in sedan category. That's an open field today- the first one in will skim the cream of the market. Sadly, there aren't even rumours of any such variant that I know of.

re: Toyota to launch the Etios and Liva facelift. EDIT : Launched (details on Page 4)

Interior looks way better than the current car and that's nice.

Etios GD & GD SP which I think are the most moving variant is priced sensibly. As said in IAB, GD variant which is comparable to Ford Classic TDCI CLXI is cheaper by roughly 30,000! and that means the already troubled Ford Classic is in trouble again. Interested to hear on NVH.

Toyota Etios GD – 7,07,243
Toyota Etios GD SP – 7,55,151

Ford Classic TDCI CLXI - 7,35,000 (From Ford India website)

re: Toyota to launch the Etios and Liva facelift. EDIT : Launched (details on Page 4)

Tachometer still not offered in the Liva Diesel variants. Just a cosmetic job to push the flagging sales. Toyota updates are even worse than Marutis! I don't think these farce updates are going to help sales.

It used to be there for below V variants earlier also. For V+ variants this place is used for passenger side airbag. The dashboard is ditto with only plastic dual tone change that too as option in G and in V.

What an eyewash it seems to be.

For G variant, with Rs 54k increase in 2 years from launch gives you:
1. 15" tyres and wheels
2. 4 mm GC increase (seems to me due to new suspension setup which seems to be the only materialistic upgrade)
3. Foldable roof mounted antenna (earlier there was none)
4. Adjustable front headrests (are the seats any better?)
5. Height adjustable driver seat (don't know how much good it does)
6. 2 DIN system - nice touch
7. STILL 4 speakers (incl 2 tweeters on dash) - laughable
8. STILL NO TACHO

re: Toyota to launch the Etios and Liva facelift. EDIT : Launched (details on Page 4)

As mentioned by Volkman both the models have been discontinued , but if one does look at the specs on paper the Liva does fall short of the polo and the fabia - 90 PS / 132 Nm of torque - Fabia 1.6 is rated at 105 PS /143Nm (or 146) , claimed acceleration of the Liva TRD is 11 seconds, i think that pretty much what the 1.6 used to do as well despite the additional weight
