A small correction there. The 116i have a 1.6L engine where is 320i is with the 2.0 litre. 116i's counterpart in the 3-series range is the 316i.

Do drive the new 3 series. The EPS is one of the best. EPS results in lower emissions, better FE and considerable flexibility - the different driving modes make a huge amount of difference. Owners may not want a daily hassle of driving a heavy steering and bumpy car.

In the old 3 lots of people were complaining of the heavy steering and extremely bumpy ride. Now that they put in the EPS and better ride, people are complaining of no feel and bad handling. I guess even BMW cannot please everyone.

Everybody who owns one never complains or regrets buying a BMW.

There's always a section of the market who dislike something no matter how good it is. Everyone's priorities are different and BMW knows their customers hold driving dynamics as the top priority. They nail that very well.

Yes I've sampled the F30 3 and the 328i E90 and found the E90 to be superior feel wise, steering is a bit weighty but its meant for involving drives in my view. EPS has this looseness about it that makes lane adjustments seem like a gaming console. Driving modes still do not give the hydraulic feel. Nevertheless it still is the top dog.

Agree, I forgot to mention this before but if BMW is clever they can really boost sales with the new 1.5 diesel (155 bhp) 3 cylinder engine that gives great mileage with more than adequate power for India. Gets cheaper and more economical for the customer, good for the environment too.

By looking at the picture it doesn't look to be below 4m length car or it is the angle of the picture that makes it look like that.

The 1-series is around 4.3m in length. It's as long as some of the midsize sedans.

Here is a pic of one of those 118i's that I saw last week during my holiday. From my memory it was just a tad longer than my Yeti, but looks very nice indeed.

That's a 1 series sedan.

That's right. It's indeed the previous gen. In the current generation, the 1-series is available only in the hatchback form (3/5 doors). The coupe now fall into the newly created 2-series range.

If Audi has created the A3 with a boot for the India market, can Beemer be far behind?
