Launched in 2011, the new Ford Fiesta sedan is due for a mid career facelift next year. The car is expected to be launched in early 2014, with an Auto Expo unveil likely. The facelifted model gets a revised front end, with new headlamps, grille, bonnet and front bumper.



The rear of the car gets wider tail lamps. Internationally, the car also comes with slightly refreshed interiors with a piano black finish, which replaces the satin finish on the dashboard. Ford India is expected to continue selling the Fiesta with the 1.5 liter Ti-VCT petrol engine and the 1.5 liter TDCI turbo diesel motor.



Both engines get a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard while the petrol engined model can be specified with a 6 speed, dual clutch automatic gearbox. AutocarIndia suggests that the facelifted Fiesta sedan to be sold in India could come with a higher degree of localization.

So, Ford India could be targeting a more competitive price tag for the facelifted Fiesta, even as the current version's price has already seen a correction along with a variant rejig.

Really a good looker than the current version. Front view is more aggressive with large grill. Still I think the rear 3/4th view is little bulky, though the rear end way good than the current version. Rear lights are very good. Good move by ford.

If Ford hit the sweet spot with the aggressive pricing, sales chart of fiesta will see a dramatic improvement.

Looks nice and I have been waiting for the facelifted Fiesta Hatch or Sedan to come to India.

I am only worried about the steering, I hope Ford can retain the best EPS setup in the current Fiesta Sedan and dont bring something like the one in the EcoSport!

In India, I can hardly remember of an example where a market dud started to sell well after a price cut and facelift. Ford is fighting a lost battle.

Rather, let them get the Fiesta hatch, have a new name for it (though I love the name Fiesta), and slot it just below the EcoSport. May be around i20 levels. That is the hot segment in India, apart from the mini-SUV.

Though the changes arent a lot, its looking a lot better.. Ever the rear seems to blend in
Hormazd says the starting price will be around 7L and Ford want to get this right this time around.

If the pricing is right and in the pocket, I'd totally go for the Aston Martin lookalike yankee!

The front looks beautiful, at least in the picture above. The rear remains more or less the same, I can make do with that compromise, if and only if the price is right!

If the title proves right, Ford will be launching this model in India, after an year of international debut. Why do these companies inject this kind of delay?

I like Ford Fiesta's. Its probably one of my favourite small cars. We have owned several of them and still have one back in my home country the Netherlands. I'm not so keen on this sedan type of a model though. Prefer the true hatchback look on this car. Although it looks as it it does have a fifth door at the back I don't care to much for that bolted on boot so to speak.

Still, I'm sure it will be a great little car. Most Ford are very pleasant to drive with some great handling.

Mind you little being a relative term here. Every year the little cars increase in size!

The mid life refresh gives the Fiesta a more taut look. And that shade of red is a flattering colour on the car. Why not consider bringing that 1.6 TDCi to inject some josh and differentiate from the EcoSport?

Three things Ford should do to increase the sales of Fiesta in my opinion:

1. Localization to bring down the costs - as mentioned in the original report in the first post, and hence price it lower.
2. Bring in the 1.6 TDCI at same or lesser price point
3. Bring in the 1.0 Ecoboost at the top end trim, and price it little less than 10 Lakhs ex-showroom.

Unfortunately there would not be any change in the engine variants in the facelifted version!

Ford has unveiled the Fiesta facelift, scheduled to be launched later this year. Engine specs include a 1.0L Ecoboost, 1.5L diesel and a 1.5L petrol on the base variant.

The rear is carried forward from the previous car and it continues to look bland. They could have changed it a little.

1.0 L Ecoboost is rated @ 120HP ?
1.5L Diesel is again 90 HP ? Can they not bump it to 110 HP
