Hi DieselFan,

Your price targets seems to be right

I had a friend in MUL and had a chat on S-Cross expected launch and price. Launch is mostly expected in May 2015 and entry level price will be around 8.5L.

I am guessing (this is mine not friend's) they may launch entry level variant with 1.3 MJD and higher variants (may be VXI+ onwards) with 1.6L diesel engine.

Reports in some other forums suggest that we may get the All-Grip systen in India. I hope they do offer it. AWD / 4WD on cars at reasonable price points will help penetrate the benefits of AWD. Currently, most consumers seem to think that this is required for extreme off roading.

Saw this today on Delhi Gurgaon expressway.

I have seen this car number of times on the same stretch but today I was trying a low cost dashcam and it got captured.

Very nice car indeed. I love the proportions and looks of the SX4 Hatch and it will indeed be a formidable car with the 1.6 litre torquey Diesel and AWD with all the safety kit etc.
This car being a Maruti, could very well take over the CrossOver market completely.

Looks like the launch is near as the spotting is quite frequent nowadays.

The S-Cross looks bigger than I thought in that video above. The screen capture shows impressive stance next to the Innova.

Please exercise caution as it may look completely different in real though. Ponzo illusion and all.

If so, it will be disastrous!!!

^^^

If this is true then, I am disappointed.

Why is Maruti Suzuki squeezing the heel out of that engine? It is high time they get newer larger engines for cars and do keep a limit to use which engine in which type of car.

Hopefully we all are proven wrong and this car gets a1.6L engine.

Everytime I see this car in the scoop images, it seems to have grown bigger On a serious note I guess they are increasing the ground clearance compared to the imported version. That's the reason for the stance.

The SX4 S-Cross has been spotted with what are believed to be India-specific features.

My God. Ground clearance is awful, forget any offroading, crossing normal speed breakers will be a big challenge in this thing. Design looks so uninspiring too.

I guess you should be joking about the ground clearance

Let me give you a hint, the car comes with 16inchers and the wheel arch covers just a little more than half the wheel. Calculate the GC roughly.

EDIT: Okay, I'm in the mood for some math. You can expect 175-190mm at the running board at least. So speed breakers shouldn't be an issue. PS: That's the GC offered on international variants too. But yes converting 7-7.5inches gives us 177-190mm

"16 inchers" is rim diameter isnt it ?

We can use this link
http://www.laneks.lv/en/tyre-calculator/
to get outer dia of the tyre with some aspect ratio assumption.
