LED upgrade is a very easy DIY job post purchase. I have done it on my car and worthy upgrade to be made if Mahindra doesnt upgrade.

This is a feature from Mahindra for their most premium and sought-after SUV and that too in the top most model :Frustrati
Common Mahindra, Tata have been offering this in Safari since Inception (Read 90's), Time to grow up. |
Manf make weird choices at times while differentiating variants. I dont disagree with you but this is a minor thing. Lets give credit to Mahindra cause even they launched XUV in 2012 it was the only car after germans to come with 6 air bags, ESP etc. Prev gen fortuner or the Safari never got that as an option in their entire life cycle.

:OT Hyundai i20 had 6 airbags when it was launched in 2008 so XUV was not the only car with side & curtain airbags.

I stand corrected. Let me rephrase, XUV at its launch was one of the few cars not skimping out on safety compared to many cars like fortuner/innova costing more and way more. Hope audience gets my drift. 2012 was the time frame when 2 front air bags and ABS was considered good enough.
XUV500 refresh has many important and valuable upgrades which may not only put other competitors at backfoot but also the present model little unwanted:
1. More than 10% increase in power, improving power by weight ratio to a new high, and so for torque.
2. More intuitive interior
And it has already been a all purpose SUV, tried and tested, with excellent support from our own home grown manufacturer.

Actually the Aria was the first with 6 Airbags, ESP and TC and 4x4. In 2010. This just to set the record right.

Can you show a pic or video of the spread of light after adding LED's? Which LED bulb did you upgrade to and from where you bought it?
Few more pictures surfacing online.

Give me a week. I am creating a thread on it. Offlately i have done LED upgrades on bunch of cars in the family, so have good learnings to share with the forum.
That's one bad looking rear. What is with Mahindra and horrendous designs. How do they even get signed off beats me. Tata has gone light years ahead in terms of design. But I guess people will like it.. they liked the first one...
Since its only a fecelift its ok to have such looks ! They need to come out of that wavy design which makes the SUV looks meek.
They dont have new ones in the pipeline too compared to Tata.
Saw this image posted on Twitter by Anand Mahindra himself. This is the current one but somehow looks better with this bumper design. They should have carried on with this type of design in the upcoming facelift.

I really think they should give the hyperbole a rest now, it's getting a bit long in the tooth (pun not intended). Cheetah indeed! Looks more like a hamster than anything else, methinks (no offence to owners, past or present or future)!
Launch is on 18th April at 11:45am.
