Too loud grill design, IMO. The tail lamp is as ugly as it can get.

Why can't M&M follow a non-offending or please-all design pattern? Their designs are either ugly (Xylo, its chop-offs, KUV side) or over-designed (this XUV front grill and tail lamps, Scorpio front and rear, KUV front, Vibe rear, even the Maxximo side!).

if M&M start a toy car manufacturing division, they can succeed in all ways.

Disheartened to see the XUV 5OO lose its USP: Looks!
I thought the front was overdone until I saw the rear:Frustrati
A cocktail of Hexa/BR-V/WR-V and what not!

However, even a marginal increase in Power is a welcome move.

If I had to buy one now, I would grab one of the remaining stocks of existing cars! Can live with a badly textured dashboard, 7% less power output but not an ugly, overdone design.

Fingers crossed for the so-called XUV 7OO!

The current avatar of XUV 500 looks so much better than this one. The tail lamps are looking so out of place in this one. They should have kept the tail lights vertical although with some change in design. I am not at all impressed with this face-lift. It has lost its appeal.

M&M is turning the Cheetah into a fat house cat. The rear end makes me nauseous really. They have murdered their flagship model.

I quite like the rear. Can't say the same about front though. The Cheetah was born handsome but I think has signed up a horrible stylist!

That grille makes it look like a bigger brother of e20.

But most disappointing is the rear design.
Horrendous. Makes it look like some 10 year old Korean MPVs' rear. Ssangyong's hands?

In pics rear tail lamp cluster is looking hideous but IMO in person it may be a better looking unit. When I first saw Crysta pics, it's tail lamp cluster also looked very odd to me, but liked it when saw in person.

Mahindra will never fail to amaze :). While everybody else starts sedately and then goes for the loud, not Mahindra. They started loud with the XUV500 with teeth, whiskers and tribal motif's etc. and mellowed it down a notch in the second iteration. But now I think the XYLO team has been accommodated in the XUV team since the model is about to be canned and they can only see the XYLO in everything with 4 wheels. Hence this.
But hey it is still a cat, not the cheetah though but Mr.Bean's land lady's :D.

Front looks like they have tried to do a Chevy, and Rear is BRV-ish. Well done M&M!

I seriously wonder what car designers are smoking these days. And how they are able to convince the management on the designs.

Somewhere I believe the buzzword across companies is CHROME.

Ditto!!! I do not even have the guts to look at the picture long enough just to enumerate what all is wrong with the rear.

Oh my god. What is that? The rear number plate holder section looks like a direct lift from the 80's.

Bye bye macho hello retro.

While it might look very different in person, the pics shown here should be better called as facedrop rather than a facelift! It's clearly more MPV'ish than SUV'ish. If the end product actually ends up looking like the pics, the entire character of Brand XUV would be diluted.

The tagline "Live young live free" doesn't suit on this version at all.

Couldn't resist from posting. Looks like Mahindra is going the same way Tata was a few years ago. While Tata is now on a Hyundai trail with smashing designs and improvement in quality, Mahindra has no idea where they are going (at least in design).
Looks like an aftermarket job at front and a an experiment gone wrong in rear.
Like mentioned above buy the previous version F-A-S-T.

What the hell is Mahindra doing, having Pininfarina up their sleeves?
This has to be the most laziest approach by any OEM to give their product a midcycle (or say end cycle) facelift.
That rear tail gate and tail lamps appear so poor in design execution.
Way to go Mahindra

The front somehow looks acceptable to me, but the rear is totally indigestible. Looks more like an MUV than an SUV or a Crossover. The design does not do justice to the “Cheetah” moniker of the XUV5OO.
Anyway, waiting to check this out as soon as it reaches the dealerships but one thing is I’m personally sure about, my Mom won’t be happy about this facelift. :D
