| ![]() This guy was doing a review and look what was spotted...shoddy underbody work. This is highly unexpected from Kia! Last edited by navin : 25th January 2020 at 11:06. Reason: MG? |

The other scuff marks cannot be from the factory. This media drive vehicle must have been "tested" by some great driver without taking much care, resulting in that damage. Last edited by navin : 25th January 2020 at 11:08. Reason: Removed earlier typo.

On top of that, the spare wheel is not located at the rear underside but its towards the middle of the car, close to the RHS sliding door IIRC. That centre region is the most prone to scraping on speed bumps and I dont know how that steel wheel will save itself from getting bent/damaged if it keeps getting hit due to the low ground clearance. The long wheelbase of >3m is going to make matters worse. I don't think this car is going to be easy to live with on a daily basis. Highway trips will be fun but city driving will be that much painful. Last edited by OSH : 24th January 2020 at 13:13.

| ![]() Visited the KIA showroom to checkout the Carnival. Indeed the car is very spacious Smart folding 3rd Row ![]() ![]() Side sliding doors can be operated using 1. The Key 2. Switch above the IRVM 3. Inner and outer door handles 4. Switch near to the 2nd row seat ![]() Hand brake or Leg brake ? 2 Leg brakes ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not a drivers car , I think so. Good quality materials and switches ![]() 1. Spare wheels are located below the 2 row seat ![]() 2. Sliding door having anti pinch feature 3. Front infotainment touch screen size is small, Seltos scores here. 4. Gear box is CVT and auto only all models, as per the KIA team it is tuned well 5. Only the front doors are manually open, side and boot are fully electrical 6. Foot steps are mandatory for elders 7. Regular 2 pin electric plug is available for Charing laptop and phone in second row, and a switch to on/off is available for the same We booked the top end model for my brother's friend Last edited by Vmv : 24th January 2020 at 22:45. Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Punting this behemoth in traffic would be a tiring experience. 5 mtrs long 2 mtrs wide more than 3 mtrs wheelbase. One would have to do a proper research of where to park this car before venturing out. It's slab sides would collect dings and scrapes. It's meant for the highways. Some of the ramps in malls may not accommodate the Carnival's dimensions. Last edited by Durango Dude : 25th January 2020 at 00:00. |

| ![]() I am not too impressed with the seating in the 3rd row. There is space alright, but its not a comfortable seat for adults - as the under thigh support is missing and you sit with your thighs pointing upwards. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() One disconcerting query is that I read somewhere that this heavy MUV has a anaemic 135/90/R17 space-saver tyre instead of the 235/60/R18 stock rim/tyre. From what I can find on the Net, it also needs to be at a staggering 60 psi. How many people will actually keep it at that pressure I wonder? If they do not, and utilize the spare it will certainly blow out if abused even a bit. Refer: http://www.kiacarnivalmanual.com/car...nd_wheels.html http://www.kiacarnivalmanual.com/car...ing_tires.html Is this not a serious lacunae in KIA's planning for the Indian Carnival? With a GVW of ~2.5 tons and with 7-9 people on board, I'd say it is dicey on anything but the best of our highways. The maximum speed limit also seems to be 80 km/hr. However, the maximum duration for running on the space-saver is not mentioned. Multiple OZ reviewers have also highlighted the same as they have loads of gravel roads and minor offroading is very common given their general outdoorsy nature. I am assuming cabbies will end up keeping a full size tyre in the boot on highway runs. I haven't seen any of the video reviews but has any reviewer extracted and seen the spare tyre yet? Just look at the differences in width: Last edited by itwasntme : 27th January 2020 at 10:15. |

Note: It is one of the rare in-house development for 6+ ratio automatic transmissions. Most other OEMs have used transmissions from ZF (9-speed: FCA, Honda), Aisin (8-speed: Volvo) and other suppliers for their front transverse applications. Some additional info below in the video and this press-release.
