Based on how they price Carnival I believe there is a niche market for 3 row SUVs like Telluride competing with Fortunner. It is a big vehicle and could give good competition if they could find a way to price it competitively. Bummer is it is only made in US for now and I don't think they are considering it for other markets as of now due to sheer size . May be a Telluride inspired Sorento might be a better choice !!

Sheer size and road presence are the biggest selling points for big SUVs in India.

But if they manage to price it anywhere closer to Innova, it should make Toyota rethink their price premium charged for Innova.

| ![]() KIA doesn't have an RHD version of Telluride AFAIK. Hence, it making to the Indian shores in the near future is highly unlikely. |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() To make a strong case for the Kia Carnival to compete against Toyota Innova, Kia should consider re-introducing the now discontinued Short Wheel Base(SWB) variant. This variant was around 4.8m in length. A Short Wheel Base variant can be priced below Innova Crysta. EDIT: OT: Kia also had a smaller mini MPV, Kia Rondo in Australia. Looking the success of the mini-MPVs in India, Kia should consider launching one based on the Rondo! Last edited by kkr2k2 : 23rd December 2019 at 16:33. |

| ![]() Spotted the Kia Carnival in flesh today for the first time and oh boy does it look nice. Peeped in through the car's driver window only to realise it was being driven by a company chauffer. Well , since we 're talking chauffer's , the one in control of my car thought it was a Land Cruiser ![]() |

| ![]() I don't think Carnival is going to price anywhere near the Innova, infact it might be close to Fortuner in terms of pricing. |

If they do consider the SWB version, then it won't have the 4th row and the vehicle becomes another 7/8 seater in the race.

| ![]() Was thinking of the Carnival as a future purchase, but the 5+ meter length has put me off. Infact the Toyota Innova is very difficult to drive within the cities due to its size, and this is larger. Also, the current generation Carnival is infact older than the current generation Toyota Innova, and Kia follows a shorter life cycle for their cars and the next gen Carnival ought to come by 2022. And on top of all this, this is going to more expensive than the Innova, and in the end will make the Innova 2.8Z appear more VFM. |
