| ![]() Since there are sliding doors on both sides, what happens if any unfortunate collisions cause the sliding doors to be damaged? How do the passengers exit in that case? Pushing/pulling open a bent door might be easier than sliding them, right? |

| ![]() There is a provision to open the boot door from inside. There is a small plastic tab near the lock (bottom-centre) that needs to be removed and the boot can be unlocked/opened from there. |

| ![]() A bunch of us checked out the Carnival at SVM Kia in Chennai. There are a bunch of pics I clicked. We didnt do a TD, so no report on it. Overall, I am OVERWHELMED!! A very luxurious, practical & smart vehicle. Very intelligently and thoughtfully crafted features too. I am not sure I could find any faults at all. This makes the Crysta looks "naked" - so please dont ever make the mistake of comparing these, it simply doesnt exist. 3 shades available, white, black & silver. The white looks massive and brings the bulk of the vehicle, black is 'MAFIA' & silver wasnt available. Looks a bit of Ertiga and Marazzo from certain angles. ![]() ![]() The insulation under the hood feels premium. ![]() OBD Port? Gets a very nice cover. ![]() ![]() I havent seen a more premium "under the hood". A look at the engine bay can make your day. Sadly, no hydraulic lifters. ![]() ![]() OVRM - Big and turn indicator integrated into it. ![]() Rear. The tail lamps in action. ![]() A closet look. ![]() Shark fin antenna is chunky ![]() Well integrated rear spoiler. ![]() Another angle with high mounted stop lamp ![]() 2 alloy wheel designs, chrome one on top of the line, Limousine version. ![]() This was everyone's pick, available on the top-1 variant. ![]() Comes with MRF Wanderer ecotred tyres. ![]() The roof rails felt SOLID. ![]() Ribbed roof in the front. You can see the sun roof as well. ![]() ![]() Last edited by swiftnfurious : 2nd February 2020 at 02:14. |

| ![]() Interiors. All the switch gear, console, dials, steering - everything felt premium. This cabin is a beautiful place to be in. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The below pics are from the top variant aka Limousine. ![]() ![]() Hand rest for front passengers. Also houses twin cup holders cum rear blower and some power connect options. ![]() Screen attached to the headrest of front seats. We were surprised with the quality of carpet too. ![]() Closer look at the screen ![]() Support for your leg as in semi sleeper buses. Saars and Maadams are gonna love this. ![]() Got to be freakin kidding. SO MANY options for the middle row seat!! ![]() The auto AC options for middle row. We were told this car has Tri Zone climate control ![]() Two 6" chilling in the middle row. Notice the head room. Anything interesting clicks? | ![]() For a change, I spent quite some time in the 3rd row. Reason - I was comfortable! Leg room for a 6'2" guy (me). The under thigh support may not be enough for tall guys but should suffice anyone upto 5'5" tall. ![]() What you see is the central ac vents of the showroom through the middle row massive sun roof. ![]() Left side arm rest / bottle holder on 3rd row. ![]() Sunblind for 3rd row ![]() AC vents for 3rd row. See thw height adjustable seatbelt for mid row. ![]() Grab handle. The reading light is beautifully integrated and has a nice white throw from an LED. Somehow, it worked only when the switch in the front roof console was operated. ![]() The arm rest for 3rd row right passenger (driver side). Gets a power port as well Vs left side. ![]() Nice thought to tuck away the seatbelt when not used. ![]() Click from 3rd row. See how far is the front passengers! This car is humongous. XL size sun roof in the middle and a standard size for front passengers. ![]() Heavy hydraulic lifters for tailgate. Its electronic operated. ![]() Me under the open tailgate. Tall guys dont have to bend and put luggage anymore. ![]() The boot space with all 3 rows up. Shallow, isnt it? Read more below. Those two tags - simply pull it and the seats will fold / recline as you need. Talk about attention to detail, it has a small velcro piece and sticks to the seatback without floating around. ![]() Nop, the boot is NOT shallow, juat the pic is deceiving. Its deep and the strolleys can be kept vertical to manage space. Bhpian Karthik measuring the boot space! He was smiling and we thought Kia may be able to call this a 10 seater! ![]() Last edited by SmartCat : 2nd February 2020 at 23:08. Reason: minor typo :) |

| ![]() The mods who are going to review this car has a work cut out! I'd not be surprised this review involves more number of mods than usual. There is too much to test. We didn't do a TD, so no drive reports / feedback. This car brings in a very strong proposition and is into a very smart segment. It has lots of party tricks / automation to keep things simple.
Everyone who sat in the car was all praises about the seat being comfortable for well built guys. This, especially for the first two rows. The head room is generous even in the last row. I could easily walk into the 3rd row / come out. I struggle in a Marazzo / Innova if I have to do it and crib my brains out in a Crysta. The key wasnt available initially, so we didnt check the screen quality, sound systems nor odo console. I personally think Carnival packs a solid punch and deserves to be a hot seller. The keys to happiness. Our experience with SVM dealership was extremely pleasant. The SA, Mr Srinivasan spent ample time (more than an hour) answering our questions and doubts. Well informed and courteous. Kept replenishing our refreshments too. ![]() Last edited by swiftnfurious : 2nd February 2020 at 03:30. |

| ![]() Grand Carnival is called Sedona here in USA. It falls into Mini-Van category which is a complete size bigger than Innova. It competes with Toyota Sienna/Honda Odyssey. So comparing Grand Carnival to Crysta doesn’t make sense at all. They both belong to different segment. |

1. Metros are choked, be it roads or parking lots. 2. How many of us in metros have a parking for a 5 plus meter vehicle. 3. This(big) cannot be the only car in household. 4. Tier2,3,4 audiences are not yet done with their love of Scorpios, Crystas and Fortuners. Top it up with Kia’s particulate presence in these cities. 5. Howsoever hard the Kia salesmen brag about the unmatched comfort it offers on the highway ultimately the vehicle has to be driven, parked somewhere in the city. If kia is able to pull off Carnival, it will be a historic move in the Indian automotive scene. | |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Visited the Mahadevapura Showroom yesterday to see the Carnival. The mid variant 7 seater was on display. The car looks huge. The length and width are much more than Innova. Interior quality, design and feel is better than Innova. Boot space is the icing on the cake and given the fact that the last row neatly tucks into the boot releasing acres of space is the differentiator. However, while there is enough leg room in the last row, the thigh support is poor in the 3rd row and one sits knees up. I still feel that Ertiga has the best last row. Also took a test drive of the Limousine. The engine is super refined. While there is a lag it is not as bad as my Ertiga. There is no sudden surge of power, but it is pretty fast. The steering felt super light at low speeds. Did not get an opportunity to do a long drive to test how it weighs in at higher speeds. The alloy design in the limousine is pathetic while the mid variant one is far better. Overall it is pretty refined, good looking, feature laden. Waiting for the price. But if one wants a proper 7 seater for adults and long drives, I am yet to find a proper one. Last edited by nurni76 : 2nd February 2020 at 11:50. |

| ![]() what about the spare wheel ? none of the youtube reviewers mention it. Since its not "under" the boot or "inside" the boot, they put it under the RH middle row passenger underbody. I hear it's a very very small wheel and hard to remove/attach. Never saw a pic. Were you able to see it ? |

| ![]() Saw a TD vehicle yesterday at Mohali. The car looked well spaced inside and clean on the outside. But it's humongous in real world! Good luck getting it around in metros and cities with horrible traffic. Would be great in the highways though |

| ![]() How big is when compared to the Endeavours/Fortuners? If its a slight increase then it can't be that much harder to maneuver in traffic or park in most spaces? |
