Mr. Petr in one of the Kylaq launch interviews said "defnitely, never" when asked about the CNG version of the Kylaq. But he said Indians can expect more powertrain options (for Kylaq) based on the demand and govt actions (meaning hybrid may come).

- Skoda-VW compact, midsize e-SUVs to use India-specific platform

-Skoda-VW EVs to be based on India Main Platform

- Next-gen Kushaq, Taigun to move to localised MQB A037 platform

- The platform is compatible with hybrid technology, which can give the Group the flexibility to opt for a more efficient powertrain.

- This larger platform will give Skoda and VW more flexibility with design, and it could even support a 7-seater SUV, which is a growing segment.

-Naturally, the next-gen Virtus and Slavia sedans will also be based on the localised on the MQB A037 platform.

- The program will require an investment of 1-2 billion euros.

Škoda Auto delivers 926,600 vehicles to customers worldwide in 2024.

- The best-selling models were the Octavia (215,700 vehicles; +12.4% YoY), the Kamiq (126,000; +8.2%), and the Fabia, which recorded the highest percentage growth year-on-year (117,100; +24.1%)

-Škoda recorded growth primarily in European markets, with the largest absolute increases in Germany, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Spain

-Entering 2025 with the youngest and most comprehensive portfolio ever: sales of electric vehicles will be boosted by the new all-electric Elroq compact SUV and the recently introduced new Enyaq, while the Kylaq SUV will support growth in India

-A key milestone in Škoda’s expansion in India is the launch of the new Kylaq compact SUV, developed and manufactured locally for the Indian market. The Kylaq is Škoda’s first model in the highly popular sub-4-metre segment, which accounts for nearly 50% of car sales in India.

Volkswagen India makes bold statements in hearing to its tax evasion case.

Quote:
if Volkswagen India were to pay all the claimed taxes and penalties – a total of $2.8 billion – the company, which employs 6,000 people locally, may not be able to survive in India.

"That is the seriousness of the matter… It's a matter of life and death now

Skoda Plans Five Premium CBU Launches in 2025,

> Diesel Powertrains Make a Comeback
> Bookings for Superb and Octavia diesels to open by May; CBU strategy hinges on evolving customs duty framework.

> Five premium models, including the Superb, Octavia RS, and Kodiaq, are planned for India via the completely built unit (CBU) route.
> Kodiaq, Superb, and Octavia diesel variants. To open bookings by the second half of May, with initial deliveries expected soon after.
> Skoda is working on a “unique retail model” where bookings will be opened quarterly, and vehicles will be imported based on confirmed demand.

This sounds like a great plan, at least on paper. Other brands must also do the same.

More changes at Skoda India.

Ashish Gupta takes helm at Skoda, Nitin Kohli to lead Volkswagen brand.

Gupta steps into the role following Petr Janeba, who played a pivotal role in launching the Skoda Kylaq.

Succeeding Gupta, Nitin Kohli—formerly Head of Sales at Audi India—will now assume the position of Brand Director for Volkswagen Passenger Cars India. Janeba’s term is likely to conclude by the end of the month.
