Looking at the relative size of the silhouette and launch timelines indicated at the event, I think this is the Enyaq iV and not the Kyroq or whatever they call it.

Superb with new Diesel Engine.... Too good to be true !!

Skoda has approved the next phase of investment in India, which will go into combustion-engine and electric vehicles.



- Skoda targets 1 lakh annual sales by 2026 with new compact SUV (including exports)
- The new investment will not only lead to a 30 percent expansion of production capacity, but also expand the addressable market for the brand to almost 50-60 percent of the fast-growing passenger vehicle market in the country.
-New investment to go towards compact SUV and EVs
- Skoda India targets 5 percent of market share by 2030
-50 percent of Skodas made outside of Czech Republic come from India.

Skoda India to make broader premium push with Superb and Octavia, diesel may return.

- Skoda Superb could be offered in a diesel variant, but likely to be in CBU while the petrol variant will be in CKD. Launch by mid 2025.

- Return of diesel in Kodiaq too is under study.

- New Octavia in Hybrid variant is also on cards. This could be a plug-in hybrid with a 150PS 1.5-litre engine paired with a 25.7 kWh battery pack.

- Skoda Octavia RS variant as CBU while the standard Octavia could be a CKD.

Why can't Skoda-VW plan a bigger push. They can shift manufacturing of the right hand drive cars to India and make it an RHD exclusive export hub. By this way they can bring down the cost of production and get spares locally and low prices.

- Believes all technologies can co-exist and will be developed as long as customer demands so or statutory regulations need to be met.

- India is strategically placed in both as a key market and exports. ( though currently shows a negative trend)

- The currently rolled out EV policy will see lower acquisition cost as well new EVs come this way.
