Re: 7th-gen BMW 3-Series launch by mid-2019 EDIT : Now launched at Rs. 41.40 lakhs

Looks like Navnit BLR (or its affiliates) bought up the unsold BS-IV 320Ds (Luxury Line & Sport). On sale now as 'used' but actually brand new.

Not a bad deal as the MRP currently is ~61L OTR and discounted to an estimated ~55L OTR. If I were in the market for a bulletproof German diesel, I'd take it.

Yes the beeping is sadly a difficult thing to deal with. Tuners are doing it (Code 6, Harmonixx, a couple others) as I checked for my Tiguan. But there's no guarantee that something else doesn't get affected when they go in. The price range was around 5-7k if you were not doing a remap. They would include it in the price of the remap if you went that route.

One could take out the space saver tire to make room for decent chunk of trunk space though.
Oh so there is a dedicated area for the space saver now. That's great! It doesn't have to sit in your boot in a bag. That itself will free up a decent amount of space.

Thanks for sharing. How is this a good deal though? Isn’t the ex-showroom almost same as the current one? Are these OTR prices? What am I missing?

Hopefully, I’ll be in the market year end, depending on how much cascading affect Covid has on Economy. Not in the market right now:(

Yes, the spare is in a dedicated compartment and it has a nice parcel tray on top that covers the entire thing. If you don't care about the spare tire (since the tires are RFTs) and need the extra space, you can just take out the spare and the tray, and you will end up getting the same boot space as you would on something like the US cars.

Hi Abhi, these are KA lifetime tax paid prices, i.e. OTR prices to you the buyer. This is just like buying a used car from any dealer or private seller.

Some pictures of the boot finally! There is a lot of smallish storage spaces underneath the lid. The issue is with heftier and/or unwieldy objects like full size luggage or cycles etc. Fit-for-purpose for 90% of the time though.

I am urgently looking for a proper boot mat made of quality rubber. The F30 mat is available but I am unsure of the fit. Any other ideas? Needs to be able to collect and retain liquids, so the 'noodle' mats may not be a great option I feel. One option is to buy a good accessory store, and physically fit various branded mats (meant for other vehicles), and buy on the spot. But no way I am doing that during the pandemic!

Re: 7th-gen BMW 3-Series launch by mid-2019 EDIT : Now launched at Rs. 41.40 lakhs

BMW has further 'cheapened' the already boring instrument cluster of the Sport variant. Now it gets a more traditional two dial analogue with a screen in the middle like most VW/Skoda cars. May be it looks good in person, I could only notice it in the configurator. Did some digging, this is the new cluster debuting on the new 4 Series Coupe and 1 Series hatch. Trickled down to the 3er in India as well as per BMW India's website. The first image is from the new 1 series, it get a different coolant temp gauge and fuel gauge, while the one below that is from the 4 series coupe, which also will be seen in the Sport variants here.

Put Bobby aside. Know this - there are a lot of unhappy bhpins with your pace (or lack thereof) of putting an ownership review

Potential customers (one speaking here), needs ammunition to convince better halfs!! Your ownership thread could be one such gold mine..

Good catch, Adi and BMW had announced that they will move to iDrive 7 across the board and drop iDrive 6. This is a good move from a technology point of view, BUT it does look that they have doubled down against pressure and retained the new display theme even with these ana-digi dials. Henceforth, there will be no variant with the traditional round dials, which is a shame.

I'd strongly recommend prospective buyers of the Sport variant to choose knowingly what they want. iD6 with round dials or iD7 with the new octagonal display dials. BMW forums mentions a July 2020 rollout in US & EU. I wonder when they will filter down to India? The current Sport variant is somewhat short-changed as there is neither Navigation nor Android Auto / Apple CarPlay nor HUD. I hope they correct this in the 2021 Sports configuration.

Hi Abhi, I am unfortunately swamped with work as I am in an essential industry. Have driven barely 1300 km so far in 45 days, which is just not enough for a meaningful ownership thread. However, rest assured that the 330i is just as superlative as most Indian and international reviewers have pointed out.

If anyone is looking for a new RWD petrol sedan to retain for 5+ years for self-drive purposes, there is no real alternative to the 330i Sport. Of course you lose features compared to the M-Sport variant, but then you save ~8L which is what I am planning to spend for our second car .

Re: 7th-gen BMW 3-Series launch by mid-2019 EDIT : Now launched at Rs. 41.40 lakhs

Looks like BMW India have brought back the 320d Sport variant. It is now available alongside the 330i Sport. Attaching the latest price list from their website.

330i Sport - ₹ 41,70,000 (Ex-Showroom)
320d Sport - ₹ 42,10,000 (Ex-Showroom)

Re: 7th-gen BMW 3-Series launch by mid-2019 EDIT : Now launched at Rs. 41.40 lakhs

QQ Itwasntme - The BMW website shows M Sport steering wheel listed with the 330i Sport variant also, and none for the 320d (even for ten Luxury Line). Was this change made with the recent jig (when they reintroduced the 320d Sport), or has that always been the case? Or is it typo on the website as I do t see the M Sport steering wheel on your car..

Nice catch there, had a look at the spec sheet and as you say M sport steering is now shown as standard equipment even on the 330i sport. Once the updates come in and they update the os to iDrive 7 as well, the sport variant makes even more sense.

Bmw needs to spec up the m sport variant if they want this much money, the price difference between 330i sport and m sport is around 7 lakhs ex showroom whereas in the case of 530i sport and m sport is 5.5 lakhs. The difference in features/equipment is huge in the case of 5 with one significant thing being adaptive dampers.

Guys, its a mistake stretching from the first 330i Sport spec sheet itself. In fact, I had emailed BMW IN pointing it out without any response.

It could be that BMW is anyway planning to add it, although globally they seem to save the M Sport steering & Sports seats for the top end OR as an expensive option.

The correct terminology should be 'Sport leather steering wheel'.
