How does Low sulphur diesel help in reducing NOx? I understand that both are independant. Correct me if I am wrong

ULSD primarily reduces PM or soot. If soot accumulates in the system, back pressure will cause more fuel to be injected in the chamber, hence increasing pressure and temperatures in the combustion chamber resulting in increased NOx emissions. ULSD supports other systems to reduce PM and NOx.

Out of curiosity, just how is this possible? I was under the impression you'd have to change the entire HUD and replace it with something that has the feature.

No sir. There are a few videos on YouTube of owners doing this without replacing any existing parts though you do have to mess with the inbuilt memory card. I have not looked at them extensively since I dropped the EcoSport from contention once they removed sync3 from the automatic.

Re: Ford EcoSport BS6 launched at Rs 8.04 lakh

Have a small observation, Autocar mentions petrol as BS6 Complaint and Diesel a BS6 ready"

"Ford India has launched its first BS6-compliant model for our market – the EcoSport SUV, with prices starting from Rs 8.04 lakh for the 1.5-litre petrol variant. The BS6-ready Ford EcoSport 1.5-litre diesel is priced from Rs 8.54 lakh".

Does this mean diesel is not compliant yet and will be made so in due date?

I guess Autocar might be wrong in this instance.

In the model compare section of ford website i can see both are BS6 compliant.

Any idea where the DPF has been placed in the engine bay?

It is possible to sideload AutoKit onto the FlyAudio system (it runs Windows CE).

You can use the Carlinkit Dongle with AutoKit for Android Auto + Apple CarPlay.

Not the most elegant solution, and you need to open the dash to get to the system's SD card.

Has anyone done this? Any YouTube video/link/reference for doing this?

Just search for 'flyaudio Android auto' on YouTube. You will get videos from a few owners who have done it.

Re: Ford EcoSport BS6 launched at Rs 8.04 lakh

Odd to see car manufacturers leverage occasions where they are introducing changes in the mechanical underpinnings of their vehicles (such as conversion of engine to satisfy a new mandatory emission norm) as product re-launches! Very smart move, as there is zero expensive investments in changes visible to buyers such as new grilles, bumpers, sheet metal, ICE etc. and you would have had to introduce the new version in any case, just make it a bit of an occasion and make it appear like buyers are getting a new product! At this rate, we could have re-launches every time they apply major software patches to the vehicles as well!

This is a by a dealer. It literally says that on the OP screenshot. Dealers are known to do stuff like this. Tata guys with the Kraz editions and Maruti guys with the stickered versions of the Brezza.

Although very thin on any real content, he says Ford might come out with a diesel auto - but then says it is a rumour. Now, if true, that would make it a very interesting proposition!
