re: Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating

Took a while to get the espresso- coffee beans connect as well as "spilled the beans" reference.

One of the more witty ads recently. Didn't even need the tag line.

This is indeed a very subtle pinch of salt on the wound. While the masses brag about "kitna deti hai", the manufacturer is comfortably sitting at "kitne tak chalti hai" ! Unless, the market (including petrolheads) like us begin to embrace, better built, better styled and better safety equipped cars, the herd is here to stay!

re: Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating

This is the mockery which everyone will love. TATA has got every right to mock every unsafe car. Afterall they have the most safest cars for masses in thier portfolio. Slowly & steadily, the awareness is increasing for safe cars which is evident in the steady rise in the sales.
But I don't think it's going to make any difference on the Maruti Suzuki. They have become stubborn and only thing they care is profitability.

Points to Tata for the cheeky taunt. Loved it.

That has to be one of the wittiest and smartest ads in recent past. It hits hard and to the point.

Hope the safety aspect reaches to masses so that all manufactures start taking this seriously.

Agree with the sentiment of this group to name and shame our biggest manufacturer in terms of volume; and social media reach cannot be undermined. High time for the following as well;

Maruti: Kitna deti hai?

Response should be: Kitna le leti hai?

If i have to nitpick, ad lacks attention to detail. I thought espresso is served in small cups or as shots! Infact it took me a while to realize coffee mug-coffee beans to spresso! This one looks like a full size coffee mug.

Absolutely love what Tata has single handedly managed to do! Push all Indian manufacturers to produce safer cars.

These Ad campaigns are just the tip of the iceberg, they had to invest heavily into making their cars safer first.

A lot of hardwork has gone into this one small poster!

Thank you Tata, for caring for Indian lives!

re: Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating

I thoroughly loved it. Super advertisement from TATA. Speaks volume about TATA's confidence in its products. It has taken them quite a journey to reach here and make a statement like that.

Now the other bits are "PEACE of MIND" and "HIT or MISS" (with respect to after sales service) which are thrown at whenever there is comparison with TATA cars. My take on this is

"if a poor safety rated car gets HIT it will definitely not MISS the consequences and there will be no MIND left to have PEACE"

Wonderfully done Tata.

The government should make crash tests mandatory and ban the sale of any car that doesnt qualify.

Maruti for very long has been making ridiculously unsafe cars and for that very reason strict action should be taken to prevent the sale of these death traps, since people here like to worship maruti.

re: Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating

This has to be right up there among the best ads in recent memory.

Its so subtle, yet so hard hitting.

As for Maruti, they just have been sitting ducks for these kind of ads.

First kitna deti hai, then their recent ads saying it takes about 150k or was 250k kms are required to break even a diesel car, this after diesel cars being their bread and butter for better part of the last decade.

Tata Ad is playing with the image too : Spilled the beans. The spilled coffee beans and the broken cup convey the idea that finally the truth has come out with the poor safety rating. Subtlety and humor in one picture. The words are the extra icing on the cake.

Spot on and Kudos to Tata Motors for highlighting safety as an USP.
It is time to name and shame unsafe cars and their manufacturers.

re: Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating

This is so beautiful! haha!
I loved the post about seltos too.

When the average joe sets out to buy a car in our country, all they care about are it's price and whether the car was used as a taxi or not. Nothing else really mattered to the crowds. Most of the buyers were in the entry level hatchback and had a glass ceiling of 5L on their purchases. How many of our first few cars had Marutis?? Mine was! We still have an 800 than my grandfather uses regularly on the highway.

For all these people, when a car with good efficiency, cheap maintenance, low cost and reliability is introduced, they flock to buy them because that's what fit their needs. There is a general lack of awareness among crowds when it comes to automotive purchases. Cheap is what wins upto a certain point and then Touchscreen systems and Sunroofs decide the viability of a car's existence in the market when you increase the price bracket. That's the sad reality. Tata is appealing to the crowds that want to make themselves look better than the masses. Tata is appealing to the smarter crowd , the crowd who knows a little more about their cars and those who want a little more bragging rights for how safe their cars are, and rightfully so. THank you TATA, for helping make our cars safer

2013 onwards, tata really caught up on it's game. Good going. Love the new designs too. The facelifted Tiago and nexon look TOP CLASS. Especially the yellow and orange. They really stand out.

re: Tata Motors mocks the S-Presso for its zero safety rating

While I am not too fond of Tata's marketing strategy that takes unwanted digs at other car brands (latest being the Halloween theme), this one is well done, spot on and enjoyable. Maruti asked for it.
Can we have a dig at the Seltos as well, Tata?
