Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

I drive a Maruti 2017 Dzire and is a poster boy of "kitna deti hain?"; its a definite fuel sipper. The heart runs on 1.3ddis, the national engine of India. The picture below, summarizes the lifetime mileage. I have always measured tank full to tank full and have always filled full tank.

The lifetime average is 20.64kmpl since I drive through Eastern Express Highway in Mumbai daily for 60 Kms with AC on. The highest is 29.97kmpl, which was recorded on the Mumbai-Udaipur drive(through Vadodara-Halol-Shamlaji) with continuous AC. The lowest mileage I have recorded is 15.16kmpl on summer-2019 in bumper-to-bumper Mumbai traffic.

Recently, I have seen drastic improvement in mileage after I switched to Shell Fuelsave from IOCL synthetics during the last service at 70000Km.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

I have a 2 ton bohemoth with a 2 ltr turbo deisel engine and a 7 speed DCT.

It returns a minimum of 15 kmpl in the city [with or without AC, doesn't seem to make a difference] if driven sedately.

On the highways and open roads it returns between 19 to 23 kmpl when driven at speeds between 80 and 110 kmph.

This is tried and tested over 7 years of ownership. As long as I don't brake too often, the car shows instantaneous fuel consumption of 30 kmpl, but averages to the above stated figures. And, I did cross check with tank Full to Full figures as well.

The bohemoth in question, Audi A6 2.0 TDI.

This is what I got from the official Suzuki connect app. A short traffic-signal-laden drive through the heart of the city got me 14+ kmpl.

Additionally, this app gives a score for driving smoothly, and I try to get a high score while driving in traffic.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

My Marazzo gives me a fuel efficiency (FE) between 14-20 kmpl. I usually drive more than 80 km per day, mainly in the city and on highways. I get an FE of anything above 15 kmpl. Highway drives usually give me more than 18 kmpl. The ARAI certified FE of the Marazzo is 17 kmpl. The MID shows a maximum of 20 kmpl only.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

I Have the 2017 Ford Aspire TDCI which consistently gives me mileage around 17-19 Kmpl in the city and around 21-23 Kmpl on the highways - AC is always on.
I once made an effort to drive at speeds of 85-95 KMph between Tumakuru and Chitradurga, I got a reading of 25.8 Kmpl.
The numbers are from the MID, the real world numbers would be around 2-3 kmpl less.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

I have a 2015 Honda Brio MT

It gives me 13-14 Kmpl in city.

In highways I get above of 16Kmpl. If I keep my top speed in 90s I get 18Kmpl.

Brio has this Eco led light which goes green if the car is on right gear with right speed. I once got 20Kmpl with speed between 80-90 and gear change based on the eco light. But the drive felt very boring

P.S: I always drive with AC on

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

It feels slightly unreal that I am finally drafting my first post in this august forum. I became a member in January 2022 and had been thinking of posting a carefully crafted first-post since then.
I have a Honda City CVT VX (Petrol), purchased in June 2020, and a Ford EcoSport Titanium Automatic (Petrol), purchased in May 2021.

The maximum mileage obtained on City has been 24.3 km/l, while driving from Ranchi to Jamshedpur on 14th December 2021.

On the EcoSport, I have been able to manage 20 km/l, again while driving from Ranchi to Jamshedpur on 19th September 2022.
Please note that these are not the full trip mileage figures but the maximum displayed during a trip.
For my usual Ranchi Jamshedpur trip of 160 odd km (or 128 km, depending on whether I take the Ranchi Ring Road or not), the maximum has been 21 km/l for City and 16.2 km/l for EcoSport.

My car is returning around 17.2 kmpl on an Economode in an early morning drive, just to have a seat in the league of sippers.

Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here-img_20181206_145146.jpg

The Yeti during winters and good fuel efficiency when I drive is a usual thing.

I usually get 22-24 kmpl(summer vs winter and full car vs empty) on the highway and my family gets 18-20 kmpl and I get 14-16 kmpl in the usual city traffic.

This figure of 25.2 kmpl was for a short trip about 50-60 km(mostly highway but a little bit of city driving also) but it's really impressive because I had a bit of traffic at the end and in between the FE figure even touched 26.4

Most of my drives are either very fuel efficient or not fuel efficient at all

here are some more figures from my other cars:

BMW e60 525d - 9-15 kmpl (city) 16-22 kmpl (highway) and peaked around 27kmpl when I really tried one day.

Swift 1.3 DDis - 16-18 kmpl (city) 20-25 kmpl (highway) and peaked at 28.2 kmpl for a long 450 km trip and it stayed at 30 kmpl for more than 40% of the trip.

My Verna diesel 4 speed AUTO doesn't deserve a mention in this post

I have lots of photos of the FE figures but they're all buried deep somewhere in my external hard drive.

My brand new Baleno AGS (less than 200 kms in the ODO) shows 13.84kmpl in the suzuki connect app. Instantaneous mileage 20+kmpl at 40/50kmph in 4th or 5th gear. All this with climate control set at 23 degrees.

Scorpio N 2023 2WD Diesel .

Highway Speed between 90 to 100 (+/- 10KMPH) FE=17.6KMPL.
Highway Speed between 60 to 90 FE =19.2 KMPL

I just reached my office at Manyata tech park from my home at BSK (24KM).On board FE showed 13.3KMPL and Adrenox app showed 15.5KMPL (This can't be true). Tankfull method on highway and bumper to bumper traffic with multiple short trips showed FE of 15.8KMPL.

If you ask me, Scorpio N is definitely capable of 20 KMPL, provided road is mostly flat and you maintain speed between 60 to 90.

AC was on all the time.
