Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

Well, 18.6kmpl with 75% city driving is what my 2015 Dzire delivers, even after running for more than 1 lakh kilometers!

Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here-whatsapp-image-20230409-20.59.21.jpg

The figures had earlier dropped to 15-16kmpl due to careless maintenance by the local SVCs. Now that I've brought it back in its prime condition via a different workshop in a different city, it has gotten back to being amazing!

On a recent 100km 90% highway run, the figures actually went to over 21kmpl!

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

It's not surprising that in this entire thread no one mentioned XUV700. But the detuned MX D offers really good mileage.

Couple of days back I've written below post on XUV700 MX D mileage,
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post5518891 (Mahindra XUV700 Review)

Summary:

Finally, I've measured tank-to-tank mileage for once in Mx diesel.

889 kms : 650 nearly highway, remaining city drive
Consumed: 49 liters
Combined mileage: 17.xx

I feel its mighty impressive but guys in Mx whatsapp group mentioned that 22kmpl on highway alone is easily achievable.

And my city mileage is around 14-15 on MID.

Below image is from Bangalore to Tirupathi trip, where roads are amazing.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

I'll leave my results here. My Polo GT 1.5 TDI gets ~18-21km/l on back roads and 15-16km/l in moderate city traffic using tankful to tankful method. I really don't know the highway mileage(probably 22+) as I haven't driven on one in a long time. This is with the A/C on btw.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

Ford Figo, 1.5TdCi, 7+ years old. Only normal diesel from HP or Essar.

Bangalore fuel economy returns excessive of 16+ kmpl. City drive is the Hennur-old Madras road-Indira nagar 100 ft rd- Domlur and return during weekdays; Bengaluraians would know the choc-o-bloc we have in this section of the city.

Highways- the ever smooth BLR-Coimbatore or BLR-Chennai road trips has returned over 22kmpl consistently.

MID says average of 18.9 kmpl, over 97000 km in the last 7+ years absolute bliss ownership. AC always on, pre-covid era this car was driven aggressively, but is now very sedately driven, but if you want to push- it can still surprise you.

I can sense that the grunt/rush has come down a bit, will have to do something about it soon.

Although the Figo is one is to keep for a long time, space with growing kids is at a compromise. Replacement thoughts are in hand but the newer big cars running expenses will burn the wallet- a lot of thinking to do.

T, Z.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

My Honda City 2021 Petrol MT:
City - 13/14 kmpl
Highways - 19/20 kmpl
These are tank full to tank full method and 80% AC.
In MID I have seen up to 24 on highways. All these with sedate driving.

I have got 18kmpl(highways), 12kmpl(city) from Etios P MT

Santro Xing had returned me 16 kmpl on highways and 11kmpl in city

City being the heaviest of the 3 has been most efficient!

Makes me wonder, if it's the engine or my driving style that has got better over the years?

GTO-bhai, just when folks like me* were finding happiness in others' miserable FE numbers in the other thread (Fuel Guzzler (Are you driving a fuel guzzler? Share your guzzler's FE numbers here)), you HAD to create this thread and ruin it . Our joy is shortlived .

*Turbo-petrol, congested roads (read Bengaluru), heavy car, eye-watering petrol prices, etc.

On a serious note, it is truly remarkable to see such high FE numbers posted by so many BHPians. Kudos.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

My 2017, XUV500 MT diesel constantly gives 14 KM/L in the city and 16 KM/L on highways. AC on 100% of the time.

The figures reduce to single digits whenever my brother drives it.

My 2017 XUV500 W10 manual is a gem when it come to FE. I drive almost 65-70km per day for my office commute to and fro. I drive via areas link Silk Board, Agara, Bellandur and Marathalli but still get around 12.5 to 13kmpl in peak traffic with AC.

Highways is not more than 18kmpl with AC.

Running cost is 6.67km/l

Well, another Honda diesel to the list. Honda BRV owned by my brother. easily gives 16+ in city and hovers aroung 23-25 on highway.

I once tried Hypermiling this sipper. An early morning low traffic 4 lane highway gave me this

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

I Drive cars which are official sippers, One of them is listed multiple times here.
1. Ignis AMT returns a decent 14-16 in city and about 20-21 on highways. If you do decide to whack throttle and go beserk, it still gives 12-14. This is primarily my Dad's car, who doesn't know much about clutch modulation and all, Hence the AMT. It gives him 16 in his style of driving, on a 30-70 city-highway mix road.

2. Seltos Diesel Manual. As someone mentioned here, most cars here will be Marutis or diesels. My Seltos gives 16-18 in city, and 20-22 on highways. 24 is attainable but you have to try for it.
All figures are with 100% AC on all times.

All the cars in our family are fuel sippers. Below numbers are calculated by a TF to TF method and are averaged over current lifetime running.

1. 2021 5th Gen Honda City CVT - 13.5 kmpl in city & 18 kmpl on highways.
2. 2017 Maruti Celerio AMT - 15 kmpl in city. Not driven on highways.
3. 2020 Hyundai NIOS Diesel TC - 19 kmpl in city. Not driven on highways.
4. 2018 Tata Nexon Diesel MT - 19 kmpl in city & 24 kmpl on highways.
5. 2016 Honda Jazz iDTEC MT - 19 kmpl in city & 26 kmpl on highways.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

I own a 2022 Kia Sonet Diesel AT and I am highly satisfied with its mileage. I get over 20 kmpl regardless of whether it's in the city, on the highway, or in moderate traffic. In the city, I get around 20 kmpl, and on the highway around 24 kmpl. The figures are achieved with AC on full-time and mostly in normal mode or at times in Sport mode. I never really cared about the fuel efficiency and have only noted it down in the initial days of my ownership, moreover, I have never had to try hard to achieve maximum fuel efficiency on the car either, but I guess I should try it out by looking at the excellent fuel efficiency figures posted on this thread. Let me take a drive out in it with Eco mode and see how it goes!
