Re: What is your car's tank range?

Car : VW T-Roc
Fuel Tank Capacity per manual : 50l

I am not sure if range is critical these days as on most roads one will find a fuel station to fill in, at least in the most of the places that I have travelled - KA, MH, GA, TN, AP and TS.
Generally, one needs to know the remaining fuel / range in order to plan the next fill in and the subsequent travel. Obviously one should not start planning after low fuel indicator has lit up.

It may become pertinent in deserted areas ex. I guess Ladakh.

Nonetheless

Conservative range estimation, based on my captured data.

City Range ( 10 kmpl ) : 500 km
Highway Range ( 15 kmpl ) : 750 km

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Tata Harrier XZ

Fuel: Diesel
Fuel tank size: 50
City tank range: 550-650
Highway tank range: 700-750

I feel the DTE will depend on a lot of factors - driving behavior, outside conditions, Fuel quality etc. If someone has done a frugal highway run, the DTE will continue to show the same for city driving also for a specific period but then once city characteristics are picked by ECU the same is reflected for highway runs too.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Car Tata Nexon 1.5L Diesel. Tank Size 44L. Usable 41L

City Range: 630 Km. Usually fill up at 450-500 Km

Highway Range: 800Km. Usually fill up at 650 Km.

There are many times I felt Nexon should have got 50L tank. That would have been comfortable.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

BMW 320d (F30):

I rarely drive this car in the city, so can't comment on the city only range. But on highways, I get anywhere between 13km/l to 18km/l depending on driving conditions. And with a 57L tank, I often get a range of more than 900km on highways.

And this is not just on MID, but by tankful to tankful method. I have done some refueling on highways after about 800km of driving, with a range of about 200km still available.

A range of 1000+km on highways, as seen here on a few occasions (and range of ~900km is the norm on highway drives):
What is your car's tank range?-range.jpg

Mahindra Thar Petrol 4x4 AT:
Too new to comment on this car as I got this just a two weeks ago. Incidentally, just today did the first full tank refill since I got the delivery, and I got an abysmal 4.9km/l. This wan entirely city driving so far, in bad traffic (average speed for the whole tank was 13km/h). I have not driven this car on highway yet. But for my short city driving so far, I see a range of about 350km on full tank.

Maruti SX4 ZXi (petrol):
I sold this car just last week after using for 13 years and more than 137,000km. In all those driving, a typical range was as follows:

Fuel tank size: 50L
Highway Range: About 600km (about 12km/l)
City Range: About 400km (about 8km/l)

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Car & Engine: 2019 Audi Q3 35 TDI Quattro
Fuel Tank size: 65L
City range : 520 Kms (8KMPL)
Highway Range: 750-780 Kms (12KMPL)

Car & Engine: 2014 Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI MT
Fuel tank size: 50L
City range: 500 Kms (10 KMPL)
Highway Range: 850-900 Kms (17.5 KMPL)

Car & Engine: 2017 Baleno RS MT
Fuel tank size: 35L
City range: 315 Kms (9 KMPL)
Highway Range: 525 Kms (15 KMPL)

The city mileage of my diesel cars are quite low as my city commutes are not more than 4-5 Kms 80% of the times.

Could be a physical limitation, rather than being stingy.

Safari Dicor / Sumo Victa had a 65 litre tank. Storme was released with a 55 litre tank, which was later upgraded to 60 litres in the refreshed version.
