Keep dreaming.
As it is,they can't sell the 1.5 due to "mileage" issues.
The best engine to relaunch the palio would be a diesel and we know what Im talking about.

At least the Punto should be launched with the 1.9L JTD 130hp engine with 6 speed manual. Mileage with performance and will show the Getz D who the boss is.

Hope I made it clear.
There is a 1.8 already in production on the torque series platform. Palio engines NEVER came from Europe. May be only the first lot of Palio's did in 2001 but since then it has always been from South America.

I went to the dhingra motors at gurgaon yesterday.
there few palio stile were standing, i just by curiosity went to see few of them. First thing i noticed was the reduced thudd of the doors. Also the three step opening was not that heavy. I dont know about earlier palio but the new one's toughmess was definately not as per my adventure.

Have the same "paint fading " problem in my 2004 siena 1.6 as well.the roof has completely faded, now, the hood and the trunk are starting to fade.
i had got the teflon coating done from the fiat showroom.
i spoke to one of the guys at fiat(after he had stopped working there and had shifted to maruti),and he mentioned that fiats paint is highly delicate and gets affected by harsh sunlight, teflon, and buffing!

I've read quite a few times on "www.italiaspeed.com" that the 1.8L petrol engine is sourced from GM.

Agreed and stay tuned for more. This time it will be the New Palio Stile in Red v/s Palio 1.6 GTX v/s Palio 1.6 Sport. I have the data but need to click pictures to support them. Will get back to you guys soon.

Moral,
Do you mean its the red palio sport of the "stile" series? I mean 1.1 or 1.6?

Guys, I've revisited this thread a number of times and don't see any update - It's been 2 years!

@Moral: your last post here speaks of sharing of more data. I am looking forward to this as a 1.6 Stile owner. Do also let us know about the header change project.
