This will change things forever,I feel. The average family looking to own a car will take the Nano hands down!
Just curious..what's the mileage like?

Released in January, taking orders in June, delivery in September.

Isn't 'released' a bit of an over-optimistic term for this?

Really great news and congrats and all the best to TATA the cocmpany that stands for transparency!

It looks so cute for sure, very good design.

The Man who need second small car will buy this.

The man who takes his family by bike will upgrade to Nano.

Many females will buy this.

Husband will gift Nano to his wife.

Boyfriend will gift Nano to girlfreind.

Few City Taxy owners especially white board guys.

Few autowalas who would like to give luxury service

But I truely beleive governement will make a rule not to register Nano as Taxy because this is not car for taxy.

People who ride on bike don't use Nano unless they travel in group because still in India for city use bike is best suitable fast way to travel
by violating all kind of rules. I see hardly any biker in Bangalore follow the rule and its same case everywhere.

We can expect good experience from Nano although please don't expect too much from it.

Its just very very simple and plain version of the car.

Regards,

Ravi.

A few dozen pics coming up - give us time to upload.

PS: It was a bit tight taking these pics. Had to scurry at the end as there a dharna by a section of the crowd saying " We Want Nano" as they had to barricade the cars because of the public onslaught.

Tata's have done a wonderful job in bringing out the car. Plus Mr. Ratan Tata has kept his promise keeping the car price 1 Lakh rupees (plus VAT and transportation) for the base version.

As per reports in the news cahnnel, inside space is 21% more space than M800.

I would request members who has seen the launch to post their opnions on the interiors and space inside.

This seems to be fastest moving thread - from 6 or 7 pages in the morning, it now looks like this post is going to appear on the 28th page.

Its easy to admire Ratan Tata, even without the Indica or now the Nano. This is just the icing on the cake. He has always come across as a good man, a man of integrity, something rare in our current context.

And he's paid a price too, it's not easy sailing for people with integrity in our system. He's not interested in 'working our system' or he would have been the premier airline operator in the country today. The government and other 'interested parties' got him there.

The Nano is refreshing, its not just a car, its not just for profits. It's a dream, a vision and now real. Congratulations Ratan Tata and Tata Motors.

Kudo's to Ratan tata for making this happen.
No doubt the car is going to sell like hot cake. but there is still a lot to be done.

tata service is already flooded with Indicabs & Sumos and its really difficult to give better service unless they start thinking in that direction, Hope they start working on this right away.

I am going to book one in June.
cheers.

Still remember an uncle saying when Tatas were running an airline people would actually set the time looking at the airline as it was punctual. Well they proved a point again.

Two thumbs up to Mr. Ratan Tata for this path-breaking endeavor.
The car has exceeded all that i was expecting it to be. While watching the launch on tv we all got that feeling where we say, "Hold on, there is something special happening here", and special it is!
