The EVO looks so awesome..!!
If they could have launched the Lancer with this modified style, wonder how their sales figures might have changed...

In todays Hindu, i'ts given that the Pajero sport,Outlander sport and a smaller (RVR?) crossover also to be launched.

HM is closely watching this thread - now they know no one is interested in buying the evo x at this crazy price. So they are going to follow our advice and launch a lancer which looks like evo

After 26 yrs, HM may drive in new car - The Times of India

And that's what TOI said today on HM's plans. 4 Variants of Ambys and 3 New (!) models!
At least if that means bye bye to Mitsubishi, then it would be good news for Mitsubishi at last, to severe ties with HM.

Nothing sells like good targeted aggressive marketing. Not even price. The only other thing that is comparable is goodwill. Again, that is built over performance, which again is based on sales.

Unless and untill HM / Mitsubishi are going to aggressively market their product, they are not going to sell. It won't matter if they operate singly or in a joint venture. They should take cue from Hyndai (i20) / Maruti (Swift) Ford (Figo) and market their products. (Exceptions are there SX4 / Fiesta etc.) These aren't Phantoms or Ghosts which one "aspires" to buy.

Even if they have a good product, many versions, world's most advanced engines or the most comfortable / plush interiors, they won't sell untill they "try" to sell. Out of sight, out of mind is what I can think of over Evo and Lancers.

Guys, I was talking to a friend of mine and got some "unconfirmed" news on EVO. Looks like the dealership training has finished for some of them ! And my friend's friend working for a dealership has quoted a price tag of 34 lakhs for the EVO X !

As I said, this is all the info I have - its not a confirmed one, but came thru a sales assistant in Mitsubishi dealer ! I think it should be available in a short time in the dealerships.

And how is this going to be sold? CKD? or CBU ?

2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution : Base Price: $34,335 - $41,735

you can see that the Evo top end is priced a shade below 3 series top end.

Here are India
3 series : 26-34L
5 series : 39-59L
Mitsu Evo : 48L

The Evo is priced at ridiculously high levels, right in 5 series territory.
That's a great comparison you have just made here Skywalker. A recent update mentions that Evo could be priced at 34 laks, somewhere close to what you have mentioned for the 3 series. If so, it's too good to be true for an evo.
