Confirmed from inside sources. Can't wait to book mine, after the tests and reviews come in.

Anyone have any thoughts on the car? The after sales for a niche product like this?

Whats the expected price bracket? Any spec or trim level info out?

If this car manages to get a decent amount of sales, we can expect BMW to reconsider the Mini Cooper. That would be a fun machine to zip around crowded towns.

The date means that the lauch is just after the Jetta launch on 16th July.

How does one get these invites to new car launches? Besides, shouldn't Fiat be automatically inviting existing Fiat owners for their new car launch? Considering that there are only a couple of thousand of Fiat owners all over India, it can't be that difficult for them to invite all their existing owners!

By the way, it seems like Fiat is finally keeping it's word for new car launches. They gave a date for the Palio MJD launch and the car was launched bang on that date. They said the 500 would be launched in July and it seems like they are keeping their word again.

I think to get an invite you need to use the "register interest" option on the fiat india site

Also as per what i saw on the site they will be launching it with 75bhp mjd engine and unfortunately not the 100bhp 1.4 ltr petrol as yet. Also this will be limited edition (200 odd) and I am not sure if all the 500,000 customization options will be available in india on the fiat virus infected portal

And yes if you try configuring it - you could go fully loaded 1.4ltr 100+bhp sport variant (all options like alloys, leather, climate control,etc selected) for under 14k pounds - thats under 12 lacs INR

Ofcourse in india we will get the base non-sport 75bhp diesel for 12 lacs and to get to the fully loaded sport trim (if it exists in india) you will be spending 20+ lacs

You really going to buy a 12 lakh mini car
wont it be better to go for a bigger car instead.

You'll find Taj End Lands full of taxi drivers and owners too

They too own a Fiat.

I kinda like 500, so im eager for the launch too.
