Great pricing! If this has indeed been the result of a govt. policy change, I'm truly happy that the govt. is finally taking a step in the right direction.

But why the limited period tag? They could actually take away some sales from competitors by maintaining the price tag.

Hybrid comes only in autobox ? If the autobox version of civic is above 15L on road, then how will they offer the car at 15L with Autobox and the hybrid technology.

Smaller engine. Hybrid is 1.4L. Then there is also the matter of the Civic being hugely overpriced.

this is not a discount, the Indian government has waived of import duty on all hybrid cars 2-3 days back, say all honda delhi dealers, due to their green and environment friendly image.
Wow, today is the first time I am feeling that probably I should not have bought my Civic 1.8, so that I could have bought Civic Hybrid...

At 13.65 ex, I dont think it is cheaper than 1.8V AT (ex Chennai)

Civic 1.8E MT : Rs. 1,117,000

Civic 1.8V MT : Rs. 1,233,000

Civic Sport ** : Rs. 1,253,000

Civic 1.8V AT : Rs. 1,303,000

I should agree that this is a great price for the technologically advanced hybrid car.

It's a 1.3 l engine actually.

In addition to the regular Civic, you also get steering mounted audio controls and a rear lip spoiler.

If I'm not mistaken, leather interiors sweeten the package all the more.

in bombay a V model civic is priced at 1525000 for indi. reg and 1600000 laks for company reg. these are recent prices. discount at max 25k which makes it still expensive and that is the reason i am now waiting for the facelift.

this is really tempting... I wonder how or why they would drop the price so much.
What FE figures has it realisticaly delivered in Indian traffic conditions?
Maintaining this could be expensive does Honda offer extended warranty?

Civic Hybrid will still be more expensive than Civic AT. CIVIC AT does not cost 15 L in Delhi. Compare ex-showroom to ex-showroom prices.

Smaller engine, but don;t forget there is an electric motor also and then high power batteries, which cost a bomb.
And who says CIVIC is hugely overpriced???

Infractions: 0/1 (5)

The boost from the electric engines compensate for the smaller engines in electric hybrids. They have oodles of low end torque 167 nms at 1000-2500 rpms. For reference the 1.8 Liter engine makes 174 Nm @ 4,300 rpm.

But then again these cars are not meant for drag racing but for the mileage conscious buyer.

This is indeed a welcome news!

But, if there is a Govt. policy, then why the 'limited' tag?

At this price, it is a sure kill, especially with the technology that is being sold!
