The new beat can now offically be declared as the most unhiden car to be launched in India with tests / trial reports being the max ever. We all know all about the interiors and exteriors and even the colours and the only thing remaining is the pricing.

Car Looks spacious for the fronties... but rear looks a bit cramped and might be a problem for tall guys.
Just my first thoughts i understand looks can be deceiving

with a GM divisional manager residing in my society i did get a chance to see this beautiful small car in my society once. couldnt take snaps as i had no camera with me.

the front is adequate though not spacious and the rear is a gamble and when i peeped out of the rear window the space and design which struck me was A Star.
the best thing in this car is the odometer. its differently placed and sticks out just behind the steering. it looks so sexy in the night when back lit. this kind has never been seen on any indian car before.

the front stance is very good i dont know why they tapered and cramped it in the rear

ya and pricing he said not yet declared to anyone, but will be around 4.3 lacs

Is there a possibility of an automatic transmission.I hope there is coz automatics are becoming important these days with people understanding the convenience and deteriorating traffic conditions.

I somehow like this design and also the interiors which look excellent.

Pics posted by cooltronics - the rear looks like Ritz.
GM --- people haven't accepted Ritz for its rear.

I happened to see a new car on Pune roads a couple of weeks ago - while I am sure that it is a better car than the Spark given the generation gap advantage it must make full use of, I think that that the Spark is a happier looking car. And if some of the dimensions have expanded, it would be a pity, because the Spark's big advantage is the small sized exteriors. I hear that the current Spark will get an 800 cc engine once the Beat is out, which takes it back to the Matiz era, but with a better tech engine, hopefully.

Are you sure? It does not look like Ritz rear. It looks more like having a spoiler on a Santro for me

Saw six of these cars yesterday heading to pune on the expressway. Four reds and two blues. Sorry no pictures as i was driving. The car looks alot like the Ritz and spark blended in, The front grill is like the Cruze and thats the only part i liked in the exterior of the car.

Any insight into when will Beat be up for sale?
I bet many are holding onto their end-year purchase waiting for Beat/Figo/Polo and a backup option in mind(incase they dont like them as per their expectation).

The sooner they begin in December, the better it will be as most of Buyers will end up buying by the end of December.

I saw this yesterday in Koregaon Park, Pune. The driver was with some lady and maybe a kid too. When I asked him what's the car, he looked bit terrified. Maybe taking the car for a sunday spin with family!

Then came home and found this is Chev Beat. Looks very good, and makes its presence felt on road. Hope this gets launched soon!

The Launch date for the Chevrolet Beat has been confirmed to December 24th 2009. Yes the car would be called the Chevrolet Beat. Initially it would be launched with a 1.2 ltr engine which is different from the engine used in the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA..........
