So instead of putting up one post and fanning the fire, the next best option is to keep mum. People will rave and rant and then this thread will die a slow thread (which is already happening - initially there used to be 60 odd posts a day and now it down to 10).
Finally she grew a brain.
Valid point.
Thread may die slowly and gradually but the members are alive and kicking. Till the time a favourable resolution is not provided for the problem in concern i will keep telling anyone who wants to buy a new car not to go for Skoda. And i believe most of the members will also do the same who support justice in this case.
Skoda cannot break the spirit and harmony of T-bhp.

@Steeroid- I believe the same. Maybe she was just associated with dealership and not directly Skoda. Otherwise no response from a major company for so long is shocking.

I voted Yes, of course. I know Skoda genuine spares are very expensive which could have triggered this happening. The way for Skoda will be to address this case on priority. The fact that they detained the car in their factory for a year itself is a reason that they dont understand customers. Despite their dealer being at fault, and a lower court verdict.

But I suspect any one from SKoda will come here and post without disclosing their identity or position in the organisation. It defeats the whole purpose and we get digressed into discussin who the heck is he/she. I know tech forums, where certified engineers of companies participate in technical discussions, answering queries, disclosing their identity completely so that we know who we are talking to.

But like I said earlier in another post, I was tempted to look at new Skoda Superb as I read good reviews and my car is due for replacement, but now no way am going to give it a look.

The thread will die, logically, with time and we will move on to other discussions. However, unless Skoda takes concrete corrective action, their disappointing service levels will stay ingrained in our minds for a very long time. The Indian enthusiast / consumer does NOT forget things easily.....Fiat India anyone?

Vid, Thad, Steeroid, harry & GTO,

I am all for this thread and am also referring people to it who wish to buy a skoda.

My post only tried to explain one possible reason for Skoda Corporate's (Meghana's) silence. Please don't take it out of context.

Atleast, someone from Skoda Customer Service should have responded here.
But, do they have a Customer Service dept at the first place?

GTO, it is wrong to refer Fiat India here!
Fiat India was NEVER bad to the extent of Skoda!

Fiat atleast hasn't cheated anyone in India or that I have come across anyone having complains with regards to his cars reliability. Fiat's customer service was amongst the worst but I guess its climbing ladders and fast.

Even if they do, it won't function because the term Skoda - Customer Service is an oxymoron!

FYI: Oxymoron: a term or word which contradicts itself.

It does not matter whether the post count on the thread has gone down. We cannot keep repeating ourselves. The damage has already being done. Now everyone is aware of the skoda situation. Word travels fast, and this will affect skoda badly in the long run.
I think we should make these threads sticky in the "what car " section.

This thread belongs to the skoda issue.

BUT don't forget some others have done equally bad things.

They are after all obsessed with quality. And their quality of screwing up seems to be unsurpassed as yet.

The response time was 5 minutes and just one post after yours....if only Skoda were at following their brand's fortunes as some of the people here.

While the thread may slowly die, it has certainly left an impression.

* Watch out for responses in the 'What Car' thread which will direct the buyer to this thread for info on what to expect.
* Google has indexed this thread, and will certainly throw it up as a search response,
* Any new member searching through TBHP for info on Skoda will see this these threads among the listed results
* Word-of-mouth has been set rolling, and we even have forwards linking to this thread out there. What goes around, will certainly come around.

It may not be immediate but the results will show up soon enough. I believe so.
