New Santro expected in Dec '09

actually let me tell you what happened.

Hyundai has ordered excessive silver paint and wanted to do something different. So they thought to give 5 colour themed interiors to outdo zen estilo's 4.
The dashboard is dark grey, AC vents silver, upper trim light grey, door pads and seats brown and beige.

Welcome to the colourful sunshine car.

The brand ambassador is govinda.

Seems like its interior is the repainted parts of a second hand car. Hyundai uses the components from the old cars (exchanged) in this 'new' model?

Shame on Hyundai to call this a upgrade..looks like they have downgraded a decent car with those awful silver patch work.

Could be a dealer's special edition car! Let us wait & watch till it is confirmed at some other dealership/ hyundai's site

Btw, I think it is Kun Hyundai Anna Nagar, the exact same showroom where I ordered my Santro Xing AT. Down memory lane for me. The showroom looks big, until you realise that one full wall is a mirror !! LOL!

I had so much expectations from the new Santro.
This upgrade is actually worse than Maruti's "all new" upgrades. Hyundai and Maruti must understand that there is a huge demand for 3-3.5 L practical small cars. Minor cosmetic changes to ageing models is NOT the need of the hour. An Engine and suspension change would have been welcome. Something like a 1.0 L stripped down Kappa engine.

Those vents seem like they are hand painted. What a rip off this 'new, refreshed' Santro is! Cost cutting is evident. Seats are from i10, I can see metal under the door pads and there are no words to describe those door pads! What does Hyundai think they will hold? I am not sure but the first lot Santro we had did not have the gap in the dash below the air con controls. I am attaching a picture, see the area circled in blue. Can someone confirm this?

Ridiculous and atrocious are the only words to describe this attempt by Hyundai. Are they taking consumers for a ride? Common seeing this attempt Estilo upgrade is absolutely fantastic. Atleast there was an upgrade. This is actually a downgrade. I think they should just phase out this car.

Well I would do just as i would do if i were to buy a Maruti 800. Buy a second hand XG or XS. Guess cost cutting was not so evident then.
Regarding the pricing of the new santro, they will really have to work and reduce the price to maintain the price diffrentiation between the i10 and santro. If that is lost god knows what Hyundai will sell Santro or i10 but not both for sure. no augmented benefits you see.

Here in ahmedabad . Sharma Hyundai is giving 60K discount on GLS model. Such a massive discount ! they wanted to clear old stock.

this cannot be the real car, this is just a tweak. the real car will be coming later i think. what a mess. the interiors are HORRIBLE. has anyone noticed the painted grille??

what's the point in destroying such a good car??
