What i liked was when Dr Ulrich Hackenberg (the international head of VW R&D) mentioned that he personally drove the Polo from Bangalore to Pune to get a feel of the Indian driving conditions to get the tuning perfect, i saw a sincere attempt to get things right there.

If they follow the same sincerity through out the product development and customer service (read A.S.S.), they are bound to succeed in the Indian market

Just saw some pictures on economictimes.com of the first production car and guess what? It's got beige inside :( I still hope there will be a choice of black too!

Great Video Anekho. Looks awesome inside. Would love to visit one. Maybe will try the Toyota one in Bangalore.

Now that production started today i.e. Dec 12th, what do you guys think will be the probable launch date? Feb 12th? Knowing Germans being stickler for times, any info on the usual timings? Jan 5th may give us the answer. But i am just curious.

Any news of Auto Tranny being launched along with manual ones ?
Lot of information and rumors about the launch going on but no info on AT as such. I doubt by the trend, polo may not be launched with AT.

rumour is march, but i guess it will be confirmed on 5th.

Disappointing Siddharth. Hmmm, was it just the interiors he saw or was it a test drive based? Not so good news but at least he is honest.

yeah that's true. And I like his style of presenting. I prefer to watch cnb as it's one of the better shows in India.
The key point here would be the pricing. At the right price, even average interior quality can overlooked by indians ( except perhaps Fiat's cars

well...volkswagen doesn't have a bad name here like Fiat so that shouldn't be a factor).

Heizmann also says they will be launching a saloon in the middle of 2010. Guess, Polo Sedan is well on its way. Bring it on VW

I am really surprised at why VW is not talking of its famed DSG AT for Polo. If AT is brought with Diesel it sure is going to be a killer combination. We will have a sure winner.
