oh boy i have tried hard but the abs guys in gurgaon just won't change the oil before the fiat's recommended period. it has done 3200KM. i was told that i should get the oil changed at 1000KM. ABS had refused at that time as well.

of course i could have forced them to do that but they were pretty adamant that it was not recommended by the company (FIAT).

grrr. I guess I would get it changed from some other service station. Since I have to pay for it anyways... It's their loss.

Good move from a great Car Maker. Seems that FIAT has listen to many of us and taking some nice steps to gain Indian Market.

Guys, first post updated to include the 150,000 km coverage part. This has been confirmed by Rehaan with Fiat.

If any of you are a prospective Punto / Linea buyer, you should cash in now during diwali as they are offering this Rs 5000 Fiat First program free and they are also providing Free insurance.

i just checked this with Prerana Motors and Concorde Motors in Bangalore.

One question. With my Linea i took the extended warranty. I don't remember the total coverage my car has (3 years?)... Should I take it? I guess it's a bad deal for someone like me with an extended warranty already.

^ the extended warranty you have is for 48 months and 150,000 kms so they are only adding 2 months. Not sure if this will be added on for existing users also.

Good initiative by FIAt to publicise this warranty. RSA should assure prospective owners to an extent.

I guess this announcement follows other manufacturers who are also starting to offer similar stuff.

It is 50 months per Rehan's post. Initially he had typed 5 years but then later corrected it to 50 months.

- Tata-Fiat Dealer network (nothing new here).
- Competitively priced spare parts (Thanks to high localization - though they admit their prices aren't industry leading).

Doesn't it sound like only marketing? Would be happy to be corrected though.

When folks took extended warranty earlier for 48 months, what was the mileage covered under that? Thanks.

A reporter raised a question regarding the availability and increasing costs of palio parts. The answer from the CEO was "I do not think there is any shortage of spares for the palio" -- and as far as the costs, (with the eg. of a filter going from Rs 80 to Rs 125), the answer was inflation.
Thanks Rehaan for the response.

I hope the same message is conveyed to every dealer since they do not keep any moving/non-moving parts in their dealership to avoid the additional investment. I think TATA-FIAT Should insist/mandate every dealership to keep at least a set of moving parts available everyday. This would help thousands of Retro FIAT customers and make their life easy

I used synthetic oil way back in Mruti Gypsy and never had to change it before 15000 to 20000 km.
Its advantage are many inculding better fuel average and keeps engine at right temprature and more.
No offence to anyone.

Could you shed some more light this point GTO? Given my limited understanding I would assume engine oil would last for the same mileage despite conditions of traffic, heat, potholes , dust etc.

Thats a great step taken by FIAT.

Now people want 1.6 MJD in Linea with not more than a premium of 50-70K.
That would make Linea a complete car with all the gadgetry & mean machine to roll on.

What say Guys?
