I really liked the ad , sorry for being odd Apart from the petrol engine, I don't think Altroz lags behind its competitors in any other department. Even the petrol engine I would say "on par!".

I am a Tata fanboy, but that's one 5 star cringeworthy ad.

These guys need to take a look at the older Safari and upto some extent the earlier Hexa ads.

Altroz, daddy of premium hatchbacks, they seem to claim. And what about sales, QC and A.S.S? Cause the products are well sorted, but the brand is lagging in these departments. Who's the daddy in those departments? Everyone is "glanzing" at Toyota, Tata.

From Tata's point of view, they are now pitted against best selling competitors be it the Baleno or the i-20. While this was under the belt a bit, I feel may have been needed to ruffle some feathers and be the talking point to drive foot fall to the showrooms.

Like any advertisement, There is bound to be some amount of exaggeration, but thats fair game and the de facto approach today. We cannot expect inspiring ads like the Safari or Sierra when these cars did not have any competitors and were on uncharted territory (Or am I wrong, cant seem to recall any except the Pajero)

Sorry, late to the party, Tata's desperate attempt of taking a potshot at Altroz's rivals reminded me Bajaj Dominar's ads targeted at Royal Enfield, while those ads couldn't hamper sales of Royal Enfield, but they attracted lot of criticism from biker's world. This ad. too would receive the same fate as of Dominar.

Bragging about scoring 5-star safety rating is fine to some extend. But rubbing it on consumers and rival companies face feels a tad too much. TATA, you aren't the only ones to get a 5-star rating.

And looking at the wordings in the ad, I'm pretty sure marketing interns could frame up better ad wordings and concept than this. If you are firing shots, atleast make it real subtle and sensible.

Just need to screw up somewhere don't you, TATA?

Nice thread !! I still spend some time over weekend watching old car TVC on YouTube .

In my opinion, Maruti Suzuki holds the first place when it comes to TCV. Their commercials focuses on Indian culture and consumer mentality. No doubt they attract more customers to their showroom because of this. Few of the TVCs which are my favorites...

As far as diss tracks go, this one was sad. I like the idea and where their heart is. But man, what a lame ad. Feels homemade. Actually no, scratch that. Homemade videos these days are awesome too.

Poor music, poor fonts, loose editing, sad visuals.

Luckily for Tata the others have sad marketing divisions too. So won't expect a fun reply.

Last weekend while I was browsing through YouTube videos I came across the Ad for the Subaru Outback and it was such as instant emotional connect.

This company has made some of the best advertisements across various themes. I kept watching Subaru Ads for almost 30 minutes and felt every Ad was worth watching. From an emotional connect perspective these guys have nailed it when it comes to Ad Film Making!
