That could be the case. Worldwide they've slipped in DSG boxes to almost all of their models - starting from the Polo, and I don't see a reason for them to think differently for Indian markets. As GTO mentioned earlier, not providing an AT option will definitely be a handicap in this segment.

According to ACI web site:

"The Passat on the other hand will continue to use the 2-litre common-rail diesel which it will soon share with the Jetta but for the first time since it was launched in 2007, it will get a petrol heart as well."

If this is correct, the Passat will retain the diesel engine but I'm sure the price of the car will be cut drastically.

Well i should think that by now the scene should have been cleared by VW.. They are only losing on sales since buyers are still about the final outcomes. I called VW downtown and they said that they`ll only know by April 1st week for sure. VW better clear the air fast or it risks losing even more buyers to other cars (mainly Skoda).

Is there some confusion among VW dealers? Reason being, in Ahmedabad since a week the dealership knows of the new models and they are selling them.

Regards,

Hi,

Would it be possible for you to obtain more details on the new model range in terms of face lifts, engine specs and pricing etc. I am assuming that you are in Ahmedabad.

Thanks.

khoj,

No changes in terms of appearance / features etc. Only addition of TSI (petrol) in the passat and the 2.0 TDI Crdi motor in the Jetta.

As of now there is no DSG / Automatic in the Jetta and they are not sure of when will it arrive.

There is no change of any kind in any of the cars besides the engine upgrades. I find it a little odd to think other city dealers are not updated yet considering they have large hoardings across the city for Jetta with the new 2.0 CRDI engine and Passat with the new petrol engine. Infact they have constantly been sending marketing SMS's for the Passat / Jetta.

Fuel Effeciency of VW Jetta - 19.53 Km/liter ? Translating it to real world conditions a 13 - 15 km/pl is real good for a D-segment car. How much mileage does Cruze give btw ?

The 2L CRDi seems to be heavily detuned in the Jetta. The specifications are almost similar to the Hyundai Verna. I dont think the new Jetta will be a match for Cruze in terms of performance.
