I didn't realize that there was a 1.4 "petrol" also in the mix. This is going to be the base mode at 5.6lakhs. Anybody have the specs on this one?? Is it a Duratec or a Rocam?

The 1.4 Exi Petrol is :

Kerb Weight : 1110

Engine Type : 4 Cylinder in line 16 Valve DOHC

Fuel System : SEFI

Max Torque : 127/4000 ( the 1.6 petrol models have 146/3400)

Tyres : Tubeless, 175/65R/ 14 ( same for all models)

Plus its the only model which does not have an in-dash CD player .

82 bhp, similar specs as the Indigo petrol and the NHC.

fiesta site is updated .. check it out.. They have a nice cool flash based presentation..

No information on prices, In any case, cat is out of the bag!

It looks totally unnoticeable.. May be that will be its strength like Accent..

The car looks smashing in the black and the diamond white colors and its tail lamps resembles the octavia's. Looks good and may not have the intended presence due to its slightly lesser dimensions in length and breadth and its comventional styling.

The diesel and the entry level petrol (1.4 and 1.6 ltr)versions have been priced right and it may translate into higher volumes.

Airbags should have been given as an option and the entry level 1.4 Ltr Petrol version shud have been given a rear seat folding option as standard. Overall all the variants look nicely seperated.

Nice move to rope in Abhishek Bacchan to promote the car and the website is pretty cool too.

yeah it does look like Ford has a killer finally! the 68bhp for the diesel is a bit of a let down those - if one sacrifices the interiors' feel the Marina might be a bit more practical and cheaper to buy/maintain

The web site is cool. I am impressed with the DTE feature and their water wading and bow wave test. Yeah I forgot to add that, their boot release button(!) (right side of steering wheel) and bonnet release lever are very well placed and given some importance.

And now they are already talking about price hike for FIESTA? Wow! Does that show the confidence in their car?

Out of curiosity (haven't seen the car yet), have they got the indicator / wiper stalks on the correct sides?

You may or may not agree with me but I think the indicator / light stalk should be on the right in RHD cars.

Price hike of 30K would mean ex-showroom 7.3 lakh for the Diesel.
Put in another 50K and you can have the innova with power windows and central locking
Put in another 40K and you can own the 2WD dicor.
Put in another 30K and you have the Top end scorpio.
It would also make it about 60K more expensive than the accent ViVa crdi.

The petrol may be a winner on the price front, but as far as diesel is concerned, it will go well with people who were thinking of Honday city petrol due to mileage reasons.
If the new accent is priced at levels of current accent, fiesta may fizzle down.

Why are we still talking about the Fiesta website and the specifications on paper????????

THe car is available - many have seen it at dealerships. Get a test ride and update all of us on the REAL experience. We've talked about this car on paper for about 2 months now, SO PLEASE GET ON THE JOB AND GET YOURSELF A TEST DRIVE.

Lets stop talking about MAYBEs and PERHAPs....where's the pioneer spirit?

okay...thats genuine frustration . third time steeroid has said that.

actually me too surprised that most of our test drivers who are normally there by launch day have yet to get hands on the car.
